To be fair, Premier League survival, plus a League Cup semi-final, would take precedence over the FA Cup. Still a 5-0 result isn’t great. Surely he’s only anther big defeat away from getting his marching order, or will it come quicker than that?
The League Cup is meaningless, thats the comp to play the kids. Premier League survival is number 1 priority of course but they could of fielded a half decent side last night and another half decent side on Wednesday, they dont have league action until Sunday. What is the purpose of the League Cup exactly...
Serves absolutely no purpose, should of either been axed years ago or exclude EPL sides from itWhat is the purpose of the League Cup exactly...

Isn't that what the St. Johnstone Paint Trophy (?) is, all clubs barring the EPL sides compete in it? I only know about that because of the Football Manager computer games I've played over the years, won it with Millwall and Leeds Utd! League Cup is probably a frivolous trophy, but it's still something. Arsenal have used it as a means to give young players games and you have to say it's worked for them.

No EPL, Championship or non league clubs are in it
Yeah I agree with aceman see league cup needs to fark off.
To be fair fat SAMs got alot of injuries to contend with atm but still, what he did yesterday was throwing kids to the wolves. He even subbed off 2 of the only 3 experienced players and that’s when the ■■■■ really hit the fan.
Not to mention only 1 up front and only going once down the middle which funnily enough we could have scored from. Rest of the play was dross.
Everything’s farked. Man City will have 5 by half time on Wednesday and Cardiff will duly turn us over on the weekend.
Its long outlived its use by date. Was originally brought in to replace the old floodlight comp and it was a bit of a novelty to play midweek at night, now most leagues play at all differant times. Its also restricted to league sides only which is a bit pointless and on top of that the prizemoney is rubbish. Think last years was about £100-150k for the winner when the FA cup winner gets millionsYeah I agree with aceman see league cup needs to fark off.
FA Cup and League Cup winner should get a Champions league spot.
Forget finishing 3rd and 4th and getting rewarded.
Will never happen, would bring back the prestige of the FA cup though without a shadow of a doubt.
It would but imagine Wigan playing in the CL this year, tad embarassing. Will never happen, would bring back the prestige of the FA cup though without a shadow of a doubt.
BIG SAM FOR ENGLAND!
I wouldn't think they'd make it that far if everyone they played went full throttle knowing Champions league was for the taking. It would but imagine Wigan playing in the CL this year, tad embarassing. Will never happen, would bring back the prestige of the FA cup though without a shadow of a doubt.
Which sort of kills the magic as Wigan winning last season was fantastic.
I'm not up to speed on West Hams squad etc, but fark me I didn't see that coming from Forest! Heavy scoring AND a clean sheet!? More please.
Saving themselves for their League Cup semi on Wednesday and for Premier League survival. No point having a good cup run and being relegated.

Winning the FA cup doesn't give you 20 or 30 million pounds, that you get if you stay in the Premier League. Aston Villa made the same decision and in fact the Manager criticised the FA Cup. I am surprised that anyone would question West Ham or Aston Villa.

FA Cup gives you a spot in the Europa league but it would be too much to use it as a CL spot.

It's an interesting situation, that's for sure. For both clubs. There are elements of the Forest following that would take an FA Cup win over promotion to the PL, largely on the basis that a Premier League spot would require vast sums of money spent just on upgrading The City Ground. With relegation a risk just a year or two later. Personally, I want us in the Premier League, with progression through the FA part of the overall picture towards that goal.

If I were to have a real favourite team, it would be Forest...saw a couple of games there when they won the league and went through undefeated.
Can they dig up Brian Clough and get Shilton, McGovern, Gemmill, O'Neill, O'Hare, Birtles et al out of retirement. There were 4 or 5 guys Cloughie took with him everywhere.
I suspect that Clough was a freakish aberration, I don’t really expect Forest to inherently be a Euro powerhouse again. It’s become far more about dollars than when we won regularly. It’d be nice though, lol.
