Comedy is dying the world is way over senstive now some one out there will always get offened some how
Loved Jessica Walter in Archer.
Sound like a really comedy fan.
How about just funny is funny. Regardless.
Oh, and I know…part of its fanbase is dodgy, but I think Rick and Morty is hilarious, too.
Lots of recent funny shows.
Sure, funny is funny, but context and audience means something right?
Nope. Just make a funny movie. People who enjoy that will watch it.
At the time it was big but when I talk to people who binge sitcoms that have finished and or younger people Frasier is a sleeper.
Would you suggest some 70s comedy that had violence against women as a centrepiece would still be “funny”?
Which show??
Thoughts on:
Frasier (underrated)
Blackadder (underrated)
Vicar of Dibley (first season underrated, slightly overrated after that)
The Thin Blue Line (underrated)
On the Buses (underrated)
Absolutely Fabulous (overrated)
Kath & Kim (massively overrated)
I’d suggest Silicon Valley as a good ‘recent’ one. Had a great first two or three seasons.
From Mike Judge which, to my mind, is a strong recommendation
See what happens on blitz when the mods shut down the middle east thread?
Thin Blue Line is great.
‘It’s my arse that’s on the line and I don’t want a c**k up.’
I didn’t have one in mind.
Well, I’d imagine that you don’t.
Simultaneously overrated and underrated: Family Guy.
When that show works, it really works.
But gee, some of the time, absolute garbage.
If you can provide me with one where the husband was beating the ■■■■ out of his wife for comedic effect, we can continue.
Some classics already mentioned but not enough love for Futurama or King of the Hill.
