We have heaps of talls, they are just sh*t
The problem with 2MP was that he wasnāt taking marks. In fact he just became too easy to defend. Possibly as a result of the ridiculous way the ball was delivered into the forward line. The issue is magnified by the fact that once the ball hits the ground 2MP became a liability. So if you are not able to do the thing that makes you a positive you are a 2M negative.
Trade Draper, we need to do something to get more picks in the door.
Bryan as #1 ruck, wright, caddy and Langford as tall/marking forwards, wright to help out in the ruck. Goldstein break glass in absolute emergency, meaning only when Bryan and Wright are both unavailable.
1st ruck Relief ruck/forward
Preferred Bryan Draper
Bryan Wright
Draper Wright
Goldy, Vigo as injury back up / Cox relief ruck if Draper or wright Unavailable.
Peter is by far the longest and most accurate kick for goal we have. Put some clever small forwards around him before you chuck him out the door
ā¦ā¦but if we need clever small forwards around him that is suggesting its because he canāt mark the ball and it is hitting the ground often. If that is the case then we may as well have Draper at full forward as he could do that too. We need Pete to take more marks and he just isnāt up to it at the moment for whatever reason.
Draper is almost the worst kick for goal in the entire competition.
Agreed. Iām just saying if all we want is to bring the ball to ground, we donāt need an expensive 2MP to do that-surely we expect more from him
I want much better kicks in the side who can hit Peter on the chest when he leads and not kick over his head with 2 or 3 opposition players spoiling (usually illegally}.
Youāve timed that comment very wellā¦
If it was that easy though, there would be multiple key forwards kicking 50 Kia every season. Reality is though that is not going to happen and there are times the forward needs to be able to mark it when things are against them. Hogan, Waterman etc can do this, Pete canāt. He runs himself under the ball a lot too which makes it harder for him - donāt expect him to get to their levels but he needs to improve.
Yep his best season for us he played CHF and relief ruck
And thatās where Iād start him, R1 2025.
Particularly if Stringer has gone and we get a new small in the forwardline to rove the contest more.
Iād like big Peter to take all ruck work at stoppages from the HF line down, allowing Draper or Bryan to stay a kick behind. They focus on locking it in, help our backs out and intercept whenever possible. 2MP isnāt too bad as a ruck (well thatās what I saw) and if he wins any frees down there heās a better than average kick for goal from 55m out or closer.
Just hoping he gets his head right and isnāt the shy timid KPF we saw before he got dropped this season. If heās on and its not a wet day, he can still be an absolute weapon for us.
The sooner 2MP is out of our team the better. Kidding yourselves if you think heās going to all of a sudden stop being soft at 28.
Trade him to Brisbane for points. Get him the fark out of this club.
Brisbane need more points than us. (Ashcroft)
Then next year picks.
He is a 3rd tall at best, I canāt believe a player losing that much confidence over a suspension
Blitzers giving far too much credit on that suspension for causing the drop off in form. That is too
That is an easy out, way too easy.
Iam not a fan of wright but good to see him working with Hayes and big Vigo doing some sort jujitsu or some weird thing working on positioning
