Peter "2MP" Wright - GETTING YOUR MOJO BACK, PETER?

Agree
Did not help getting no support from the club at the tribunal after Brad spoke about playing with a “hard edge”

It’s a ridiculous notion because he’s been soft as butter his whole career.

A broken clock is right twice a day, and this not a reflection of Rutten as a coach as a whole. But I feel like he did a very good job with 2 Meter Peter. And the drop off has been noticeable since he left.

Agree with that… from an external viewpoint, it certainly appeared that Truck did an excellent job at identifying and using leadership techniques that Peter strongly aligned with.

Mind you, it’s most likely that it was just because their natural tendencies were aligned, but hey, credit where it is due.

From my point of view, the act of not challenging Peter’s suspension broke something inside the big fella. I said it at the time, and I’m still comfortable with that observation.

Have to admit that a functioning forwardline would probably get a fair bit more out of him by working to his strengths - he’s basically a deadeye esp from outside 50

Does t suit the modern game, lead up forwards need to do more either ground level, be able to compete body on body, Pete doesn’t do these things, he is a straight line one touch forward whom can’t mark against much smaller it’s a big problem.

He isn’t starting 22, Caddy has him covered.

VFL for mine to start, unless he trains the house down and gains some confidence and is deserving of a round 1 spot, which I hope so.

He’s a beautiful kick though……shame he can’t get the ball

He’s a confidence player. His world seemed to come crashing down as soon as he did his shoulder and spent most of the year out. He looked a shadow of himself from then on.

He could be a guy who never returns to his best, and it seems like Scott would sacrifice him in order to get his two ruck thing working. That would require Draper playing more forward and you can’t have them both playing there at the same time.

2 ruck “thing” is never going to work. Esp when neither of them have any forward craft. One will have to leave. Just play them to maximise trade value

Maybe that gets fixed with Draper heading to Adelaide after next season.

By then Goldy can bring his walking frame out onto the ground to get closer to 400 games.

Clearly not using my Mums fridge in the 80s. Was hard as Dirk Diggler

Your mum, or the fridge?

Haha my mum

I overheard Peter Wright talking to Brad Scott.*
He said:

As I walk down the race
I say, “Why am I soft as a forward, now?
Why am I so soft as forward?
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don’t want to end up a cartoon
In a Bomber graveyard”
Bone-Stringer , Bone-Stringer
Ex Dog in the moonlight
Far away from my well-lit door
Mr. Beerbelly, Beerbelly
Ya got that mutt away from me
You know, I didn’t find his stuff amusing anymore

If you’ll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Bradly
And Bradly, when you call me, don’t call farken 'ell.

As I walk down the race
I say, “Why am I short of attention?
Got a short little span of attention
And, whoa, the games are so long
Why am I in strife so rapidly?
What if I die out there?
Who’ll be my role model
Now that the fat model is gone, gone?”
He ducked back up to Brizzy
Joined other roly-poly little bat-faced girls
All along, along
I’ve had incidents and accidents
There’s been hints and allegations

If you’ll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Bradly
And Bradly, when you call me, don’t call farken 'ell.
Call farken 'ell.

As I walk onto the ground
Those grounds are a strange world
Marking footys is an absurd world
Can’t get my feet off the ground
Can’t speak footy language
I’m holding none currently
I am a bygone man
I am surrounded by the sound, the sound
BlItzers in the marketplace
Shattering my ordinariness
I look around, around
I sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
'N I say, “Amen and Hallelujah!”

If you’ll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Bradly
And Bradly, when you call me, don’t call farken 'ell
Call me

Na na na na, na na na na
Na na na na, na na na-na na-na
Na na na na, na-na na-na na na
Na na na na, na na na na

If you’ll be my bodyguard
I can call you Bradly
If you’ll be my bodyguard
I can call you Bradly
If you’ll be my bodyguard

  • May or may not have happened.

Just taking a humour break from the Russia Invades Ukraine thread.

I wish 2MP all the best for 2025.
Kick arse and mark the freaking ball.

Gold Coast were right about 2m Peter…

@scotty21 was WRONG.

Three words. Surplus to requirements. It’s obvious to see he’s not a fit for this team moving forward. He’s been usurped by a kid in his 2nd season and a ruckman playing forward for basic competitiveness. Slow, poor defensive skills, not aggressive enough. Gonna be playing a lot of VFL footy this year. There probably will be a market for him in a trade at season’s end but it will be a throwaway pick and most likely we’d have to pay a portion of his salary on the remaining 2 years of his deal.

If he has done an Achilles and we put him on the LTI would we be able to put an additional player on the list like Carlton and Melbourne did
