It was pretty much in the middle of the city… Tennoji Park maybe? Now that I think about it, the expanse of water was much smaller. Did have the buildings in the background though…

Ah yeah, near the zoo and museum and that.
I see Sony has the A7V on pre order. Same price as the a7rv though which is crazy.
The a7r series has always been my wish camera but with the pricing now of the standard a7v being the same, makes me wonder which is actually now the better camera…
Sigh.
Just caught this in front of the house. No idea of the event. 1/30 with a 600mm lens hand held.
The black stuff is the tree between me and the fireworks.

Don’t mean to be rude sal, but didn’t you miss focus?
Maybe. It’s an old manual focus lens and I kinda guessed where infinity focus should be, then brought it back in a little.
Actually, looking at the shutter speed i think i shot this wide open (f1/.4) so it might be soft anyway. 
ok, here’s another one , same lens but a slower shutter speed so i’ve obviously closed it down. This time i think i’ve tried to focus 1/3rd of the way into the infinity plane . The plane of focus has landed on the third lamp post from the camera, too close this time.
My main interest was the light and texture above the Spirit , so i’m not too bothered. I like the look and colours.

The colours are all nice but given it was nearly all in focus I was wondering where the actual target spot was!
