Why do those weasels do what they do? They think they’re righteous when in fact they’re just bullies and sooks. Anyone have a thought on this they could share? I saw a cartoon on stonetoss.com which offers up an interesting notion:
Depending on what you find funny, Stonetoss’ work is outstanding. Often offensive. Takes the mickey out of both sides but clearly appeals to the non woke demographic. If you’re a sucker for being professionally offended by everything, avoid his work for your own sanity.
Suppose it was offensive but those involved are cool with it. Kosher?
Never make jokes about Christians? Bugger that. Makes jokes about whomever you want (again, provided you know those you’re sharing the joke with are cool with it.)
Is this the monologue thats stirring up the controversy?
Im not following whats so horrendous about it. Is it crass, yeah, does it make some valid points using comedy as a way to cut through tension, yeah, do all comedians do that, yeah.
Maybe im missing something but the point he is making seems pretty supportive of marginalised people generally?
True. Whiners on both sides. But the woke types are easier to bait and have stronger reactions. For the record, winding up right wingers is also fair game.
How do you know people are cool about it ? Some say they are, but really are not.
Mrs Fox had a Boss who threw great dinner parties, and he liked to be the comedian for the night. He told lots of Irish jokes; and one night I had enough and so I converted an Irish joke into a Maltese joke (our host was of Maltese extraction). Everyone laughed as normal, except the host, who told my Wife that I was no longer welcome at his home.
Depends on the joke. So many variables if you’re talking about jokes told in the workplace or at a dinner party.
The issue is centred around jokes that Chappelle told on stage. If you don’t like his comedy, don’t go to his shows or watch them. Complaining about them is silly.
