I’d be cutting Huss and at best putting him on the rookie list, terrible standard of fitness considering all the academy assistance he was part of and after being on an AFL list for 12 months.
Hope Huss can get fitter, because he showed plenty this year. I think he can be a very important player for us moving forward with his forward craft and pressure (at times).
He certainly has the talent to make it.
That would be a terribly stupid thing to do to an athlete. Ozempic slows down digestion. Given how many calories they do need to consume I suspect that would work out terribly.
That principle applies when gaining muscle mass as well. He might have overdone it trying to gain muscle prior to being drafted, and then I could see it being difficult to maintain a calorie deficit during an VFL/AFL season when recovery week to week is so important. I’ll be interested to see how much progress he makes over the preseason.
The biggest issue is the fact that he was allowed to get away with being so unprofessional.
No doubt players should live a professional life but if they don’t the club should not play them in the seniors until they are in the sort of shape a professional athlete should be in.
Seriously half our bloody problems are self inflicted.
I guess the good news is that Huss is out there trying to do something about it, unlike myself who is sitting on the couch with a bag of chips critisizing him not being fit whist working hard on getting fit.
