Post Season Training

Jeez, I aint fit by any standard, but Huss seriously needs a solid conditioning preseason.

I honestly find it hard to believe that Inness has let this fall through the cracks. I hope to see Hussy slim down considerably between now and the pre-season games

He may not have, but in the end the player has to be the one that does the work.

Be interesting how he shows up for pre-season.

Huss needs to buy a good pair of running shoes and start running - lots.

I laugh that I had blokes on here chipping me in the lead up to round 1 when I said that Huss is going to struggle to keep up with the repeat high speed running + aerobic endurance required to run out games at AFL level as he’s not in great condition.

“It’s just his build, doesn’t mean he’s not fit” “How would you know that”

Like, really?? Is it really that controversial to think that?

And yes - not everyone is a cookie cutter svelte athlete with washboard abs. But there’s a certain standard even within this paradigm.

Yes unfortunately it is controversial to think that. For some reason, people are innately sensitive to speak about weight and body types. They’re professional athletes - being fit is part of their uniform.

I was in at the hanger the other day and noticed inside the players auditorium, they do a ‘don of the week’ for each round which is player voted. Vigo got it for the last two rounds, ADW also featured a couple of times - both could be primed for a big year with another preseason under the belt.

I copped it a few years ago for calling Stringer fat haha

I had a players parent have a go at me for calling their son not fit enough on the Pod. But they weren’t

Nothing wrong with that so long as you phrased it right, and knowing you as a person im sure you did.
Some people cant take even the most well thought of constructive criticism.

Was her name Sarah by any chance?

Was that player recently delisted and has the initials Elijah Tsatas?

You don’t even know the context behind it - and I am guessing you know nothing about nutrition either.

That is just an unfair assumption. He did really well for a late pick in his first year, so he deserves a pass.

Tippa was never ripped either.

No.

And yet Huss managed to do this for pretty much the whole season. There’s an argument that he put on more forward pressure than any of our other small forwards when he was challenged by Solly. No doubt he needs to get fitter but for a first year player he went okay.

That belly fat has nothing to do with running - it has everything to do with how much Huss eats, what he eats and when he eats it.

Huss needs a dietician designed food plan, more than an Inness design fitness plan, to lose that belly fat and get in shape.

Was this the same parent who rang the club and demanded we pick her son lol

We know who this is.

For gods sake dont mention any players weight or skinfolds, AFLPA says so, but feel free to say whatever you like about their weight distribution, stats, likely pay, and general onfield performance or whether they could be anything or nothing.
Apparently the 2 sacred numbers are the most important in terms of players mental health. Sounds like BS to me.
