Not a good sign for Waterman if he hasn’t been selected.
No Ham/BZT is pretty damning.
Many of these guys have been in and out of rehab type work.
Hardly unexpected
Looks as though best team we can put out there based on whose ready to go. Jones only to get a half and Baldwin probably plays the other half. Draper and Bryan splitting some time also.
And then there is Tex / Martin getting looked at against proper opposition.
Dogs have named a strong team
As have we
I reckon his absence could be as much about preferring to use Martin and Wanganeen in the areas of the ground Waterman would otherwise play, in a game like this. Give them decent minutes and get another proper look at them.
Just farking unleash Baldwin.
That’s all anyone on this forum wants.
Preferably without a shirt on.
Waterman also has only recently been on just running for a month. He may just be on a different timetable with his body and program
Hopefully we will see Durham and Waterman in the VFL game afterwards to alleviate any concerns
Yeah I’ve seen him just pounding the pavement getting k’s into the legs while the others are training.
They clearly made increasing his aerobic capacity the priority for him above all else. It’s looked deliberate rather than due to any injury.
OK Kelly your first assignment is to pile drive the little Cheatman Ambrosia style into the earth’s core beneath the Hangar.
Hope the boys havent forgot what they did to us in the final
Would be a nice little boost to kick start our season if we win.
If he is any chance to be played in same fwd line as the 3 talls (+ Stringer) he has to do so
Yep if was truck I be telling Kelly to stick to him like glue and not give him inch almost like a tagging role
Strong side, can’t wait!
Was looking forward to seeing how much Durham has improved, based on glowing pre-season reports, so hopefully he gets his chance next week (assuming he’s cleared to play).
I though Ham did a few good things in the intraclub and would’ve expected him to be named, as we usually give more opportunities to those fringe players over the pre-season games.
Otherwise, really no surprises.
Our backline is at full strength, so really looking forward to seeing how Kelly slots in and works with the others. Will be interesting to see who makes the final cut.
GETTING THERE
There will be no on-site parking and street parking is limited.
Limited complimentary parking spaces for Essendon fans will be available at the end of Derby St, Tullamarine. There will be directional signage along Melrose Drive and staff will be on hand to direct you to the NEC Hangar.
Additional paid parking is available at United Airport Parking behind the Mantra, 2 Trade Park Dr, Tullamarine ($10 for all-day parking).
I’d still have Stewart over Zerk at this stage…
Will Jones play first or second half? no Keith chance for him to shine
I have no idea…… but 100% first half.
