Yeah, thats fair. I thought he’d been injured a bit but that was last year
Well it’s a start …
All upside from there!
Is training on again tomorrow or is it a day off?
Nothing on the club website.
Going off the last couple of weeks tomorrow will be a day off with a big session on Thursday
Thanks nackers
I don’t expect him to play inside either. But he is a big body with a tank and reasonable speed so he should be able to get around and mix things up in a two on two here and there
Should have gone the full rebuild in 2016 imo by 2020 we would have had a team full of top 20 picks ready to challenge
Just a competent coach would have helped. We have a lot of players on our list that have not progressed as liked.
Hopefully that changes with Rutten.
On the screen and the wall in the Team Learning room, it says We want to be a high scoring team that is ruthless in defence and uncompromising in the contest.
Good to hear it, because we have mostly been bog average in those 3 areas, very often relying on a few players for ball movement off half back to get us into the 8.
Thats been plastered on the walls at the club since 2016. It should just read “We want to win so many flags that other clubs give up and fold”
Be interesting to see if the training watchers notice a major change in the way the boys train and the game style.
Management-speak doesn’t appeal to emotions. I hate that “We aim… we strive” crap. The wall should read, “STAND YOUR GROUND, GIVE EM HELL, AND KICK THE DAMN GOALS”
We’re going to win the flag in 2020, so it doesn’t really matter whether we had top 20 picks or not
Am I the only one that is secretly a bit lid off?
Might get a new lease of life out of any off cuttlet Townsend and hibberd.
Langford, laverde, Francis, Parish, Redman, McGrath, McKenna, zerk thatcher, all have another couple of gears to go to. I expect one or two ‘breakouts’ from this list.
Smith, Fantasia, Heppell, Hooker, Mckernan, Gleeson, Stringer and Hurley fit again (all carried injuries last year)
Having a capable ruckman (which we didn’t have for half of last year) beachcomber or Phillips (with Draper in the wings).
Joe the wildcard - everyone a bit glass half empty on him but who knows. Stewart as well.
An infusion of Richmond DNA into our game plan.
I sincerely hope you’re correct and I’m wrong, because I’m pretty much feeling the opposite. My hopes have been dashed once too often.
We can’t be any worse than this season, how do we go backwards from that.
Oh, to be so young and innocent…
Was last year your first as a bombers man?
YIKES
Theres certainly a look of change in the list and the coaching. I wonder whether the reality from this point will be Worsfold taking the legendary Neil Craig role? In that scenario, hopefully it will be Truck doing the learning and the players doing the winning. We probably only need to win 3 more games next year to be a top 4 side.
