How did VOSS look?

A beautifully balanced report. Well done.

Langford is the pre-season specialist.

Always seems to impress at training.

Bravo. Having attempted this a couple of times, I know how tough it can be to write something coherent about a bunch of training drills. Pulled that off well.

Jakes not below 15%.

Yeh it’s a fine balance not to be too critical given the senior group are actually back early. I guess I was just keen to see them have a steely purpose and resolve about them to suggest they are unwilling to accept what they served up this year. I’m sure that will come as Brad gets his teeth into training with the full group, seems to be easing into it for now.

Voss mainly just did some goal kicking with Baldwin, which is good because I think it needs further work tbh. He is in great nick though

I think it’s exposed form rather than perception, he always looks much better when he has a direct opponent and he plays his best footy when he’s opposed to good players.

He was awful at the start of 21 in that role

Only caught the last few minutes of the training but the group still out there looked in good condition and spirit. My goodness I can see why Weideman was rated highly - he looks a beast.

Statistic show :

  • Male Olympic swimmers 6 to 8%
  • Male Olympic track sprinters 7 to 9%
  • Elite men soccer players 6 to 10%

Research on male AFL footballers has found percentage of body fat varies from 6.1 to 19.5%, with midfielders showing higher fat levels than either forwards or backs, which is interesting as mid-fielders run more during a game.

If you recall Carlscum got into trouble in 2016 for their FAT CLUB for players whose body fat percentage rose above 12%.

Players can be skinny and have much lower fitness and endurance than “fat” players.

Maybe a future in WWF like his Grandfather.

Can you cite the research you’re alluding to? That’s a pretty big range for AFL footballers. And how are they measuring the body fat %?

I am excited about Weideman
He is very determined in becoming a top line forward and 2MP and Scott have given him so much encouragement and confidence

When you think about it, the content really is poor. Apart from a few Insta photos, maybe an interview if we’re lucky there’s not much training coverage or fan engagement. Again, the external review pointed to lost engagement and disconnect between members and the club. The social media content is one area that could do with some assistance. Let’s see what happens.

In relation to the social media content specifically, it really declined around the time of covid and hasn’t recovered in breadth and depth since. I suspect this department lost resources, and it shows.
