Bring back the BBBBQ
Tsatas seems to be the forgotten man.
Any word on how he is going? How is he looking against the other mids?
Regardless of how he’s looking, you just can’t play Parish and Tsatas in the same midfield in my view
You probably can if one of them added a bit more defense to their game and due to the expanded bench. But in absence of that, yeah, agree.
It doesn’t hurt having natural ball winners around the stoppage. We’ve looked bog average at times with Caldwell + Durham + Merrett (which seems to be the default first choice) as the on ball combo because we struggle to get first hands on the ball.
I guess the other side of that coin is how Sharp fits in, how much we want Kako playing midfield, are we going to use Robey as a mid or a flank early on (I think long term he is a mid, but injury/development might mean it’s a bit of a slow burn into that role) etc.
That wasn’t the question.
I was asking how he is going.
Its very hard to tell as there has been no full ground match sim. I think we will know more in the coming weeks. Will be a run with role that Tsatas will be playing. So he would have an assignment on a Caldwell or Durham type to limit them while finding some footy himself.
He may as well just accept he is playing VFL now. He isnt a senior footballer. Easy delist this year
Any updates on how Elijah Tsatas is travelling?? Hows his kicking and fitness ?? Sorry I see Ant asked the same above.
If he’s playing a run with role I guess the most important area he’ll need to improve is his fitness. I think from memory Sharp played a lot of last year on the HFF hopefully we can fit both in.
It’s a cracker of a day here at the hanger.
No wind. So should be no excuses for poor ball skills
Yeh he has worked really hard on his fitness and its showing. Much better repeat sprint work. Worked on his tackling also
Where do Blitzers typically congregate at the Hangar?
Beautiful day for training today. Just got here and the boys are filtering out.
No excuses for poor skills today.
Can’t make today, back at work unfortunately..
I may have walked past and stood along side of the group on Saturday, was everyone on the road side wing of the oval watching the transition?
There were some familiar faces from previous training sessions I’ve attended..
Tsatas playing a run-with role is interesting. At face value he doesn’t have the attributes for this role, but maybe it’s more about developing his weaknesses so he can be a more rounded player.
Blitzers tend to hang out on the outer wing near the fence. If unsure, just listen for the collective groan when Tsatas shanks one.
I asked him on it and he was genuinely excited about the role and thinks it will suit him. Provides him a clear focus as well. He said he realised fitness level just has to be elite for that role so thats what he has worked on. I sense the club feel he does have a good frame and speed and if he can develop his physical side and be a Dunkley type…then kicking is not a big a factor. Dunkley is not a great kick but plays his role and links up in ball chains and kicks to his limitation…meaning 20-30m smaller kicks to better ball users. I see this as Elijah’s focus now. He had one half ground drill where he played on Caldwell late Dec and must have denied him the ball 3-4 times with intercepts. So, it’s an interesting watch.
Lol.
“No excuses for poor skills today”
Now you have gone and done it!!! lol
