Both teams kicking over hundred. Our defence is double bad
or our new ball movement is hard to stop
Looked dead calm, and a scoreline of 16.4 to 16.7 or better would be expected on your training deck in those conditions.
Feel for Wardlaw, looks to be one of those players that is going to be robbed of a great career.
More worried about Z Reid tbh.
Is he injured again?
Sounds like it. Iβm sure the club will be proactive and tell us asap.
Which one do you believe is more likely given our history
I prefer to be positive
The club has broken me
Hard to get a read on match ups and many players swapped between Red and the Black team, end of the session Black won by 3 points with a goal after the siren from Caddy.
Some notes from todays on individual players from how I saw it -
1 β Andrew McGrath β Continued his strong pre-season off half back
3 β Darcy Parish β Was great again today, not as dominated as last week
2 β Jacob Farrow β Thought he struggled to find the footy today
4 β Kyle Langford β Some strong marks, looking good, some wing time too
5 β Elijah Tsatas β Wasnβt his best today, thought he was better last week
6 β Jye Caldwell β Running laps, looks fine, just being cautious
7 β Zach Merrett β more time inside 50 today, kicked a few
8 β Brayden Fiorini - solid on the wing, going really well
9 β Sullivan Robey - progressing his rehab, running is increasing
10 β Isaac Kako β was quieter today, but did some sexy things
11 β Jade Gresham β credit to him, playing well in the midfield not doing much fwd
12 β Will Setterfield - solid running block
13 β Nik Cox β concern, has missed a week of training now. A watch
14 β Jordan Ridley - solid running block and high end spiriting. Just a different build up for him
15 β Dyson Sharp - tough inside, solid hit out, working on his spread
16 β Archie Perkins - solid running block, not far off now
17 β Vigo Visentini β Not really impacting, but he competes
18 β Lewis Hayes β did some exercises on the oval, building strength in the knee
19 β Kayle Gerreyn - CHB, looking good, intercepting well, he is improving
20 β Peter Wright β Kicked 3 or 4, had a ripping pre-season
21 β Archie Roberts β midfield time today and boy he was good, kicking solid
22 β Sam Durham β His best hit out of the preseason, went up a level today
23 β Harrison Jones - solid running block
24 β Nick Bryan β continues his build, late March his time table it seems
25 β Jaxon Prior - mainly wing today, solid, kicked a few, can he find more of it there?
26 β Archie May β Awesome again, pushing real hard for best 23, will be stiff to miss if he does
27 β Mason Redman β some brain fades today that cost goals, needs to clean that up
28 β Xavier Duursma β wing, fwd, not that prolific today
29 β Max Kondogiannis β 2nd half on Caddy when Reid went off, did okay, has put some size on
30 β Nate Caddy β played deep, good contest on Reid before half time, sense they are not letting him lose just yet
31 β Zach Reid β coped a bad corkie to the hip/lower back. Took 2nd half off and iced it
32 β Ben McKay β Mainly on Wright, had good moments
33 β Hussien El Achkar β running laps, no injury just some soreness, should be right for next week
35 β Matt Guelfi β told he was sicked yesterday, was quiet today
36 β Angus Clarke β wing, back and fwd today, thought his decision making was better
37 β Nic Martin - Watching on
38 β Rhys Unwin β started well, got more of the ball today, much better showing
39- Cillian Bourke β running with Robey, a few weeks off
40 β Zak Johnson β normal size shorts on so was hard to spot, did some nice things
41 β Saad El-Hawli β really strong today, intercepting, rebounding and skills were much better. Watch for best 23
42 β Jayden Nguyen β just does most things rights, plays his role, going well
44 β Archer Day-Wicks β really pushing himself, canβt knock his effort. Not sure where he fits
45 β Tom Edwards - not far away from full training
46 β Lachlan Blakiston β continued on from his good pre-season, If he could improve overhead marking he would be a real weapon
48 β Liam McMahon β better today, kicked 2 or 3, just efficient
Whoever is responsible for teaching Unwin to kick in his formative years needs to be apprehended and face severe sanctions.
Legend.
I wonder whether weβd try Caddy, May and 2MP in the same forward line. Would be very tall and I doubt you could play Langers in there too.
I think it was the 3rd qtr, Blakiston was off, Wright into the ruck and May went into the Black team with Caddy and Langers. It could work as a bench rotation and Langers ability to go up to the wing too. Just depends how we want to set up with the 5th interchange spot now
Thatβs my biggest concern on him, canβt hit the side of a barn in the games we have seen, my hope was that it was nervousness but fear is that it is systemic which will cruel his career if he canβt sort it out.
Thanks for the recap. Itβs depressing to have so many players running laps ![]()
It was Tsatas.
Some of the VFL listed guys that played that havenβt been seen much this pre-season.
Solomon McKay - I really like him, played off half back, I think he has AFL potential
Noah Scott - he too impressed, very smart player kicked a goal or two
Cam Niko - took off from last season, kicked a lovely running goal
Will Bella - IS a big boy took some really good contested marks
Sellers and Boston Dowling continued their pre-season with us and contributed well.
