I’m very uncertain on our round one team. Basically I just want Jayden Nguyen in there and the rest can fight it out.

Just be interesting to see where a lot of players land over the first month.

Does Sharp get a start round one? Does Farrow work in his way into our crowded half back line?

Does Huss get a look over Gresh?

Does young Zach Johnson get a look?

It’s an exciting time knowing that new faces will be generating big selection pressure.

The answer is no.

2nd youngest list generally means you’ll be bottom four - not even the best coach in the world can get this team above bottom four.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply delusional.

This is also why I hope we don’t fire Brad - we need continuity more than anything.

Has anyone considered that the reason we’re always described as a young list is because when our players reach the age where they should be entering their prime…their mid twenties, we end up discovering they’re either not up to the required level or we haven’t developed them properly, so they are moved on? Our list profile and age spread ultimately come back to the responsibility of the coaches and list managers

its more who is playing rather than the age of your entire list. our best 23 touch wood if stay healthy contains our best players that are mature. i did a quick best 23 and our average age was 25.1 and 14 players 25 or older. also there is a famous saying “the game doesnt know how old you are”

Chris Scott gets disrespected a lot with this line of thinking, what he’s done since 2011 is remarkable.

Forgot who it was but there was an AFL coach late last year that said Chris Scott is the hardest to coach against tactically.

Ahh no the list turn over is almost complete I say one more draft then we grab Bewick in 2027

Unless we move on close to a dozen players in one hit the list turnover is nowhere near compete

The issue is, we never get anywhere playing that 23. The whole aim is to replace some of these players. Otherwise we just tread water.

Most years there are half a dozen list changes as standard so you could easily make a case for moving another 4 or 5 on especially so called senior leaders who constantly have proven to be not up to it
