It is the head coach. The assistants need to be good too, and the club admin has to be good, and you need good players. But there has to be one person who is responsible for setting standards, telling each of the players exactly what his job is, and imposing those roles in a way that produces a sound defence and an efficient attack, and that one person can only ever be the head coach.
So far I haven’t seen anything from Bryan to suggest he’ll be a good AFL ruck. He’s been very ordinary so far. Of course rucks take time to develop and he may come good, but we need to see that. Draper will be a huge loss for us.

100%. Try following Leicester Football Club, they’ve had six coaches in the last couple of years. Same result all the time, the only thing that hasn’t changed is the players and the stupid upper management.

Yep I feel like Brad should be given a chance with a completely new list that isn’t full of players that are lazy and been brought up with the loser culture that has plagued Essendon for 20 years
You noticed how the younger players we drafted the last 2-3 years seem to be fine under Brads coaching.
So do we give him another five years to let the senior guys retire?

2nd youngest list generally means you’ll be bottom four - not even the best coach in the world can get this team above bottom four.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply delusional.
So, I’m guessing maybe 5 wins at best
This is also why I hope we don’t fire Brad - we need continuity more than anything.
