Preseason Training 11/11/24 (and onwards till someone creates a new thread)

Yes yet another medium sized mid forward or slow mid is what we need.
As opposed to break away speed and elite clearnce work (post Shiel and rapidly breaking down undesized Parish)

The Pou can kick, tackle, do clearances & was pick 10 in the draft.
Tsatas should be performing better.
If his tackle count was up I wouldn’t have a problem, but he should not have been a top 10 pickup.
And with clangers both players have had on average 1 clanger a game.

Pretty crazy that a player with 37 games is performing better than one with 11 (all out of position)

IDK. Ask coaches very nicely to make sure there is a position for him suited before going on the park. Cats work ways around every new player coming in, Tiges use to. The bombers don’t.

Lol that’s funny, Humphrey hoofs the ball and was the best inside 50 kick at the whole club last year. His issue was always directional with his kicking at under 18 level, not length or flatness of his kick, which is most important.

Just like every first and second year player who refuse to play seniors until their exact spot opens up

I would have thought being a sub would effect Tsatas stats?

What do you mean if his tackle count was up? He barely plays a quater a game, getting .7 a game with that play time is actually pretty impressive from HF or the wing.

Being in the same postcode as the goals is usually pretty important. Most games I watched him play for Gippy it was Joe levels of crossing fingers and toes

It is not 7 a game chief. 5 tackles total for his 11 games.

0.7, not 7

Really need to adjust Tsatas’s stats for the vastly reduced game time that the kid got. He probably averaged 0.5x to 0.3x a full game.

He’s got a deficiency, but the main problem impacting his stats is him only getting half a quarter in some games.

11 total games that Tsatas has played over 2 years with a third of them being the sub and coming in for the final 10 minutes of a game that we’re already losing or being destroyed in, and mostly being played in positions that are not naturally his.

Yeah, really setting the kid up well with that, better judge him and his ability entirely on that data set.

Give him a full season of full games in a position that suits him and then analyse his stats based on that, not whatever mismanaged ■■■■ we have done with him at the back end of 2023 and the first half of 2024.

Well chief I said .7 see the decimal there

He averaged 4-5 tackles per game in the VFL this season.

I don’t think it’s a glaring issue for him. He’s played really outside roles and minimal minutes in the AFL. He’s going to have fk all tackles as a result.

@premature_rookie_ele yo this guy is stealing your bit

Which was addressed pretty much straight away with afl level coaching. The tools were there to be a good kick, tsatas lacks any distance or penetration so it’s much harder to fix.

If that’s addressed, I’d hate to have seen it left to run

Fair enough, he wasn’t missing by 15 metres like in under 18s though and that hybrid forward role has a lot of shots on the run and from distance. To the eye it had improved a fair bit. I think overall he’s a good kick. Here are some comparisons of similar players.

Imitation is flattery or something like that.
