I can’t recall a time when I was more excited by our young prospects. Even in 93 the Baby Bombers kind of snuck up on us. I’d love to know how Blitz rates our kids in order of excitement. I’ll kick off with my Top 10 with 1 being the pick of the bunch through to 10
It’s a good list I would see if you can fit max kondo in there he’s exciting due to his ability to put everything away in its correct place and to fold clothes
I rate Kako extremely highly, probably just after Caddy, given Reid is more likely than not to be ruined by injuries. Kako’s cleanliness and decision-making is already so good for a teenager.
2nd youngest list in the league, and it shows when you can list 10 and still have vigo, hayes, gerryn and johnson not listed. I really look forward to seeing how all these kids develop
And at the end of this year strong chance of another couple of highly rated prospects. Overall by end of 2026 we will have a really interesting exciting list
Sharp - has the potential to be the do everything midfield general that we haven’t had for a long time
Kako - dynamic, smart and dangerous
Reid - please stay fit, very good in the air and damaging with the ball, haven’t had a player like him in a long time
kondo - don’t think we’ve had the full package medium sized defender with extreme pace and good skills for a long time.
caddy - supreme athlete, some rough edges to iron out
robey - could be anything, hopefully he’s the wrecking ball footballer with athleticism we need across half forward with stints in the middle
clarke - engine, mongrel, and damaging still a lot of upside for him to explore
roberts - really like him but feel he’s closer to his ceiling than others in his cohort. love his attitude more than anything
nguyen - nice combination of skills, speed and doggedness, plenty of upside to explore
huss - if he tops out at josh green levels (100 games of AFL footy at over a goal a game) we will have done well, i think he is a decent chance to be better than that. true goal sneak and a powerful little unit
farrow unlucky, need to see more of him, could easily rocket past a few on my list
Agree with the ceiling comment. I love his dare but I’m not sure he can be a star based on how some of his kicks look and where they land. IF he can tidy that up then I’ll start to believe he could be AA material one day.
