Prior from the wing puts some toe on it and hits Merrett on the chest.

Oh baby, the bombers close the gap to 65 heading into the last

I think though walla they will be hoping for a few extra goals this year from both caddy and Kako as they get more experienced.

But yeah we do not look particularly potent

Commentators: they are still a chance from here….

I expect BDB to select a team that looks similar to this:

**please note that’s not my preferred line up

I’d pick my dead dog to play before Gresham!

I miss those couple of weeks of Essendon EDGE™

Can someone explain to me why the Merrett trade situation is adding anything to the Essendon vs Hawthorn on field rivalry?

Yeah it adds abit of banter between the supporters……. But I don’t understand how it effects the players at all.

Are the Hawthorn players going to target Merrett? Why? It wasn’t his decision to stay.

Are the Hawthorn players going to target Essendon players? Why? They had no decision making power regarding Merrett staying.

I just don’t get it, other than the AFL trying to add some fuel to the rivalry for views.

If Scott names Duursma on the wing the premiership is ours.

I think it’s more from an essendon player perspective that Merrett wanting out was a slap in the face about how their captain rated their long term prospects and that Hawthorn is going places.

That’s not manufactured that would be genuine motivation to stick it up the hawks

I wanna see nguyen vs ginni getting ambrose’d 2 ft into the marvel turf

brad scott was seething.

It’s just another talking point for the comms. I wish the AFL would stop trying to be clever and just concentrate on a fair as possible season.

If Kako misses, which unfortunately is sounding likely, that’s a massive loss for us given our lack of quality smalls (+ he’s probably been the pre-season champ up until that hammy).

Unwin is out and I don’t think ADW is ahead of Guelfi & Gresham, so I expect one of the latter to play alongside Huss. Not sure if we’ll go with all three.

I’ve been leaning towards playing May off the bench with 2MP, Caddy & Langford starting but that was based on Kako being available. Now not so sure.

Sounds like Prior is a lock for a wing - would prefer we go with Duursma/Roberts and look at a Johnson/Farrow/Kondo type rotating through but we’ll see.
