Rd3 Changes vs Port Magpies

Out: Shiel, Menzie, Jones, Hobbs
In: Hayes (key back with Reid), SEH (wing), ADJ (small forward), Caddy (rest)

On field changes
McKay Forward. He isn’t doing anything down back, may as well try him forward. Given Port have no KPF at the moment he’d have no opponent anyways.
With Shiel gone, Redman/Roberts are given his role as the run off HB.

Hobbs - some may find this tough but the way I see it, if you’re not playing him in the mid you can’t play him. He just struggles up forward. I’d rather a genuine small forward given a chance.
Jones: same as above. I’d rather play a real winger.
ADJ: let’s see what happens when he partners up with Kako.
Caddy: didn’t look right on the weekend and to see him out of all players get subbed tells me he’s carrying something. Don’t screw this kid, make sure he’s cherry ripe.

Edit - Forgot Ridley was a human being. Simple one, Ridley for Prior

Early changes:
Required
Out: Shiel, Prior, Hobbs
In: Ridley, (Clarke/SEH/Johnston), ADJ

I think Shiel has to go out he hasn’t done anything at the contest, gets lost defensively, cannot distribute effectively and is 32.
Prior has to go back to the VFL, he is not super young so doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt I am giving Reid.
Hobbs just isn’t a forward, if there is a midfield role then give him a shot but he will need to wait if there isn’t.

Want:
Out: Jones(Caddy if injured)
In: SEH(wing)

Jones is not a winger, goes forward if Caddy is injured but otherwise needs to spend time in the VFL proving himself up forward.

Dream:
Out: McKay
In: Hayes

Won’t happen but I think it should, Hayes was everywhere in the VFL deserves a shot. It may have to be at the expense of Reid, I wouldn’t like it as much but I still think it might be worth it. Good form should get you a spot in the team if Hayes is out performing Reid(Or McKay) then he should get his shot.

Maybe it’s time for our supercoach to think outside the square for Thursdays game.

I think maybe resting Caddy for this one is probably a good idea. Supposedly received a big corkie against the Hawks and didn’t train all week leading into the crows game then subbed off.
Give him this week off then we don’t play again till April 12th gather round so gives him an extra couple of weeks to refresh.

So my outside of the box thinking is why not try McKay at full forward? He can take a grab and won’t have to worry about trailing behind either. Otherwise there is no spot for him this week as port similar to the Hawks don’t have a big forward line

Plus we need to see if Hayes and Reid can work together cause they can be our FB and chb for the next 10 yrs

I want to go with this 23 on Thursday.

Shiel only stays in cause we are playing at marvel.

It’s time to throw in some of the kids to see how they go.

Oh and hopefully the ground announcer remembers to announce Archie Perkins this week when announcing the team.
And remembering number 31 is Zach Reid
