Awesome gift!!
Agreed. What’s the problem mate?
This is an awesome animation of the the MCG circa 1967 - 1983 with standing room behind the goals. Brings back so many good memories.
I only remember concrete steps.
Agreed. What’s the problem mate?
The gift itself is good…it’s just that it’s not something that I expected…and it makes me feel older (as per the thread title).
In 1986, Johnny Cougar was touring in Melbourne, did a show at the Tennis Centre I think but did a surprise gig at Bombay Rock in Brunswick playing with a local band. He was fantastic and it was a rare night where there were no fights in the place.
People forget(?) that Mellencamp was 31 when Jack and Diane was released.
Ha, just thought of this one.
Boomers may remember this kids’ TV show, where one of the regulars [a man in his forties, called “Joffa Boy”) was introduced. The song had these lyrics, in a sort of question and answer format:
“Who’s that chap whose looking round the corner?”
“I don’t know him from Little Johnny Horner”
[Joffa Boy]: “I’m that chap who always has a grin”
[children} “Joffa boy, Joffa boy, please come in!”
It was a much more innocent time. Joffa would be arrested carrying on like that these days.
I remember hearing him talk about how he was walking down a street in London and heard someone call out “howdy doody, Joffa Boy”. Don’t know if he responded with the standard catchphrase of “howdy doody, boys and girls”
Used to often wear a long-sleeved ■■■■ Carlton jumper so I’m happy to run with the 50s/60s stereotype of adult stars of kids shows.
Joff Ellen was his name. One of Zig and Zag was a touchy-feely type too. My female barber of 25 years ago copped the treatment.
That was Jack Perry who was zig.
Wasn’t Zag the suss one?
I wasn’t saying Joffa Boy was a paedo…i was saying he was a fark Carlton fan…same same.
I didn’t mind Joffa Boy, but l loved Professor Ratbaggy.
Wasn’t Zag the suss one?
It was the one with the cone hat, so I think Zig. I think it was reported that he had also molested Zag’s daughter.
The day when ‘When I’m 64’ becomes the reality.
When people tell you that you’re getting old…because you’re 64.
The only concolation I have as the years pass and the body gets older, is that the brain will forever be adolscent.
I’ve apparently posted 13 times in this thread and can’t remember doing it!
The Coodabeens used to say:
You’re only young once…

But you can be juvenile ANYTIME
