Reminds me of the classic* joke about alzheimers.

Mr Oldman has taken his wife to the doctor for some blood tests. The results come in.

“I’m terribly sorry” says the doctor, “There’s been a mix up with the blood tests. We can’t be sure which one, but I’m afraid Mrs Oldman has either Alzheimers or AIDS”.

“That’s terrible” says a distraught Mr Oldman. “What am I meant to do with that information”?

“Well”, says the doctor in a serious tone, “my medical opinion is that the second you arrive home today, you must send her for a walk. If she returns, for the love of god don’t ■■■■ her”.

:drum:

*may not be classic

Actually it is a failure of logic. If she returns, Oldman won’t remember the doctor’s advice.

Please elaborate?

Only Mrs Oldman was tested.

What have I missed?

Oops, I thought that the doctor had tested both of them but mixed up their samples, not mixed up hers and some rando.

When did you last take a leisurely stroll around the neighbourhood, Albert?

I confess it’s been a while - been too busy trying to help fix up doctors’ blundered diagnoses.

Fighting the good fight, Albert.

Well done, that man.
