Request for AFL assistance in 2026

But the team who currently has pick 2 are just as ■■■■ and won just as many games.

We’ve now officially hit a round number of 1 win in THIRTY.

Let that sink in.

We’re going to break the record of most losses in the shortest period.

They’ve won twice as many games as us this year.
Means they’re twice as good and deserve nothing

1 in 30 as we finished last season with 13 losses including the rescheduled GC match. And 1 win from 17 this season.

Abject failure. A start or minimum mid first rounder before the top 10 pick is surely being discussed along with prelisting next 2 drafts.

23rd May 2025 if anyone cares for knowing the exact last win date in Melbourne.

Thats a whole year in everyones life where a win hasnt been seen in Melbourne, you cant write it.

We can threaten the AFL like we are going to close the strait of Hormuz. Either give us the pick after our first (like GC got Anderson), or we will continue to play Blakiston, Jones and Parish for the next 3 years. Foxtel and Channel 7 will lose millions with ratings for our games and the next big TV deal will take a battering.

There has never been a club whose timing sucks as much as Essendon.

Until we draft some legitimate game changing talent, we will remain completely ■■■■■■.

We aren’t getting ■■■■ this year or next.

How does AFL’s rules look… when they let Draper go to the back to back premiers Brisbane for peanuts.

Just for that alone we should get the first pick of the draft as priority pick. I think it should be the first three picks given Tassie are going to steal our picks for the next 2-3 years.

I wonder if the AFL are wishing now that they had given us a pick after our 1st!

Yep they had a great opportunity to help us with Draper pick and didn’t.

We will literally need to be staring down the ■■■■■■■ apocalypse before the AFL will actually properly intervene in any meaningful way.

And yet a competitive or better yet an actually successful Essendon would still be infinitely more valuable to the entire league than some fkg bullsht Tasmanian team.

The wonderful irony is that we are essentially in expansion club territory right now. We have maybe 2 senior players who are any good to us surrounded by a few seemingly decent (but not necessarily standout) youngsters.

When an expansion club enters the league they essentially get 2-3 years of absolutely plundering the top end of the draft (including pre-listings, free hits on uncontracted players, multiple top 5 picks, 5 mil signing bonus war chests etc) because the league understands that the only way to fast track a team to success is through a massive influx of the highest end talent available (and here’s the important part)…at the expense of every other team in the comp

With FA being the absolute clusterfck to equalisation that it is, coupled with the ridiculously compromised draft, compounded of course by several more years of expansion team horseshit, Essendon is going to be down for many, many more years yet.

What a fkg stupid sport.

Buckle up, the pain has only just started.

… and develop them properly, not put them on the dedevelopment regime the club has perfected.

What are the odds of Tassie’s first win being against us when they officially start?
