We looked excellent in the first half. Lot so of run and pressure and straight kicking.
But we couldn’t sustain it in the second half and the last qtr was a massive struggle. We had no control of the ball or the game. We tired and tackiling went
Need to be better with the lazy handball that don’t make the distance. They kill us.
And handballing to a team mate that’s surrounded or running into the opposition. - nor smart footy. Did it too often.
Lots to work on, but also lots to like and learn from the game.
It’s a win against last year’s grand finalist and it got games into the kids. So overall you’d take that.
Wife was happy at half time, i said, they may be 40 up, but i cant watch the second half, they will either scrape over the line or lose, just so predictable
Five wins against bottom six teams. Three losses against current top five teams. 13th on percentage and I’d say that’s still our true position, but fun to be in the eight.
Getting leads after good play from kids, then as can be expected they drop out of the game and the others get back in.
That said, need to be some serious questions asked about how and why we always let teams back in after get to game breaking leads of 4-6 goals.
Incredibly young team, lack a bit of belief / knowledge in how to win, key players injured and a few senior players really not impacting. Could have lost it late but that’s an excellent win overall.
My favourite part was when McGrath tried to break the record for most screw-ups in fifteen seconds of football.
I mean…good on him for going back in over and over, but still.
Driving all night, thought i had a nice Sunday morning replay to look forward to. Nup, another mid table moment banked. I’ll try to watch with ‘the kids are alright’ glasses on. Seen the movie though. Swans are hiccuping
Comms asked Reid about Roberts being part of the Rioli story. His response? He knew nothing about it, didn’t even Roberts was involved and can’t give them an answer.
