Review the Klan game - ANZAC Day 2023

If you asked 17 other clubs which team they’d prefer to be behind too at 3QT they’d all say us. We can’t close close our games and always leave the door open. ■■■■■■■ spewing after today.

I’d have said Richmond.

This year is different

This is true

he’s good, but it’s a self fulfilling prophecy.

you have our coach saying that “everyone watched him from his underage in awe” or something like that, then you not only let him run loose for 3/4’s, you just let him watlz around in the middle for the last, kick 2 and like, oh well it is whatit is.

he’s good, but jesus the amount of just letting him d whatever he wants is sickening.

there were 2 players that could ultimately keep the pies in the game today, moore and daicos.

we constantly kicked it to one, and let the other do whatever he wants.

and they are paid literally hundredas of thousands of dollars, to allow what the average slob in the street with 0 footy knowledge can see, happen.

We have two Daveys, Hobbs, Cox, Reid and Tsatas, who are all top end talent that arent even in the picture. Plus more out of Caldwell, Draper, Martin.

To me thats a fair bit of upside going forward.

With a war chest and a decent coach/environment if we do it right we could be in the top end mix.

I’ve heard that unlike 17 teams in the comp that you are the player who could both stop Daicos and also prevent Moore from intercepting

Can you tell us your tactics?

No coincidence that Brisbane beat them comfortably by putting a tag on him

He still had 40+ disposals and kicked 2 goals in that game.

Rub their ■■■■■ on a cheese grater

well obviously don’t kick it straight to moore, that would be a start.

daicos, well you know, put someone near him, anyone.

it’s not rocket science.

it was good enough for oliver, why not daicos ?

Menzies absolutely burnt opportunities

Hepp just killed forward momentum on a few occasions by just standing still

Parish was absolutely pissweak over the ball and did not apply any form of physical pressure on opponents

imagine if someone said this to the happy clappers when we were 2-8 or 10 over the last 2 years.

hell imagine nino said this, i wonder how long he’d get suspended for.

but hey you’re being positive, so good job :+1:

ESSENDON

- Jay Clark’s ratings

Andrew Phillips 5.5

Worked hard and set up Alwyn Davey goal with a slick handpass below his knees. But not up to the same level as his past fortnight.

Jake Stringer 7

Bounced back from a quiet start to loom as a potential matchwinner late, swooping on Sam Draper tap to go 28 points up.

Nic Martin 7

Was one of the Bombers’ best with his damaging run on the wing a constant threat. Nice goal early.

Archie Perkins 7.5

Excellent game despite early knock. Huge moment in the third slotting long goal after John Noble tackle. Breakout year.

Sam Weideman 7

Looks a shrewd and cheap pick-up for Essendon after solid day including massive pack mark. Kept Darcy Moore honest.

Will Snelling 5

Had the job on Nick Daicos for periods but the Magpie is on another level. Snelling a willing worker bee with a nice pass to Langford early.

Kyle Langford 7.5

Big impact in the second term gave Collingwood headaches when he took apart Trey Ruscoe. Has to stay forward.

Darcy Parish 6.5

Has dominated this stage before and worked into the contest after a slow start. Not his most impactful game.

Sam Durham 4

Has been a great find for the Bombers but the wingman had little involvement in this one.

Jake Kelly 5

Deserves credit for his job on Jamie Elliott as the Magpie struggled for accuracy. Kelly’s hardness very reliable on Anzac stage.

Jayden Laverde 4

Subbed out of the game in the third term with a shoulder injury. Wasn’t easy on the high-flying Ash Johnson.

Andrew McGrath 7.5

Had some big one-on-one wins and looks at home back in a defensive position. Provided rebound but efficiency suffered at times.

Mason Redman 8.5

Just keeps getting better. Essendon should pay him top dollar as one of the best rebounding defenders in the league. Huge on Tuesday.

Brandon Zerk-Thatcher 8

Break-out year continued with an excellent shut down role on Brody Mihocek. Bombers thrilled with development.

Jordan Ridley 6.5

Solid day down back rotating across all of Collingwood’s forwards. Not standing out as much anymore but sleeves rolled up.

Sam Draper 7

Looked the difference when he went forward at times and sparked Essendon throughout but Collingwood’s midfield won the day.

Dylan Shiel 7

Made a red-hot start in Zach Merrett’s absence and ignited Essendon with his blinding early run but slowed in second half.

Will Setterfield 6.5

New Bomber is relishing the inside grunt role and he was important early. Tough battle on Tom Mitchell and Scott Pendlebury.

Dyson Heppell 6

Steadied the Bombers on the big stage early with some key touches and switches of play. Essendon happy they kept him.

Alwyn Davey Jr 5

Will learn from experience and won’t forget his first goal on Anzac Day feeding off an Andrew Phillips handpass from down low. Tackle on De Goey big too.

Jye Menzie 4

Played sore after crashing into the post and had some threatening moments. But played on one leg.

Jye Caldwell 8

Took another big step forward with an increased midfield role and was tough in the clinches. One of his better games.

karma doesnt give a crap when it comes to this shitstain of a club

yeah……but the AFL player ratings confirm that he’s the elitist of the elite according to all available statistics.

so there’s that.

Menzie was obviously hurt after colliding heavily with the behind post in the first quarter. Should give the kid some leeway

Will beat these bunch of black and white pretenders on the return bout.
