So flat. We had them by the shirt and curlies but you just had this sick feeling going in to the last.
Our 6 yr old had an absolute blast regardless of the result, and was gracious in defeat to the pies fans around us, shaking hands and saying âgood gameâ. I wish we got the win for her, but maybe itâs good to be disappointed sometimesâŚ
No ⌠was at the game and think we didnt play Stringer enough in the guts in that last quarter. He sat at full forward and got about one kick whilst we were being totally outplayed at the CBAs and clearances. He was the difference in that 3rd Q and we were creaming them.
Draper shouldâve kicked that goal in the last⌠end of. And Menzie shouldâve goaled as well. Get either or both of those and the momentum wouldâve been interrupted and our heads wouldâve lifted.
thereâs a direct correlation between supposedly positive and delusional.
yep we smash them for 3 qtrs, and yet they still won. itâs not the flex you think it is. 1 goal in two qtrs in the smashing of 3 qtrs, and still lost.
Who did? The club or the supporters?
Our coach has been saying all year, donât expect to win Jack â â â â â .
I donât think for 1 minute that our players got ahead of themselves.
We are in a way better position now than we have been at any stage over the last 10 years.
Someone in the thread before the game started was saying how BDB was such a better match day coach than Collingwoodâs so his in-game tactics would mean we would be sweet.
Were okay in the first half, played incredible in the third, and were overrun in the last.
Itâs important to note that Collingwood went on an 8 goal run in round 1 to run over Geelong, a 9 goal run to blow away Port Adelaide, and should have done similar to Richmond (except they kicked 3.8 without the Tigers being able to score anything).
Theyâre the fittest team in the comp by a mile, and were always going to come hard at us as we tired out. The third quarter showed that last week was no fluke, and that we are more than capable of taking it to the very best. The last quarter showed that we have a lot more work to do, fitness and list wise, before we are capable of doing it consistently.
Yes, losing in the manner in which we did today, considering the occasion, â â â â â â â sucks, but the reality is that we are in year 1 of a rebuild (â â â â â â â and whining about the last 20 years doesnât change that fact, or make us better any quicker).
Oh and another thing, â â â â off with this âCollingwood own us bla bla bla we are terrified of themâ shittakes. Their highest winning margin in their last 6 wins against us is 16 points, which was all the way back in 2018
We copped an arm chair ride all day, so this isnât a factor, but how the hell did bzt not get a free when mihochek literally hugged him to hold him out the marking contest. Tell me Iâm a numpty for missing something obvious?
We had half the Team today who have played less than 50 or 60 games. Nothing at all to do with age, and if you were at the game you may have noticed how tough it was. Hot conditions, everyone having a real dip in front of a huge and loud mostly Collingwood crowd.
Forget the last quarter for just a minute, but Bombers were clearly the better Team most of the day. Collingwood are a good outfit and have some deadset champions in their group.
Sure the last quarter was disappointing but our blokes gave all they had and then some. So stop being so angry and appreciate the progress we have made. Next week Geelong should smash us, but wait and see how much character we can show because this group has it and wonât give in easily.
Thats a whole heap of blind optimism. Maybe if youâd been rightfully pessimistic on our list for most of the last 2 decades id be more inclined to think its more reasoned. Overating our young players is the only thing this club has consistently done to a high level.
