Review the Klan game - ANZAC Day 2023

Interesting stat: Aaron Francis took 5x the amount of marks than Draper and Phillips combined this round!

The hurt will continue, because I can assure you this won’t be the last ANZAC medal Daicos will be awarded in the years ahead.

At the ball ups throughout the day Collingwood always had a player about 10-15m away without an opponent. More often than not that player got the ball and was a link in their quick ball movement. How did our coaching staff allow that to happen?

Because our spare was in the D50

you monster

That didn’t work well - watch all Collingwood quick kicks or handballs forward going their plus one around the stoppages.

They’ve been sitting off opponents all year, they apply pressure in the fwd50

2 premierships since 59. Pendlebury and Sidebottom are generational players with one premiership to show for it.

Most of those chanting probably need to be in prison or drug rehabilitation clinics.

Don’t let them get you down. They don’t deserve it.

Agree it didn’t work today. In our past few games we’ve scored well coming out of defence in numbers…didn’t use our spare well, didn’t use the corridor often and were then beaten around the ball by what we know (Pendlebury, Sidebottom etc)

Maybe we could take some ā€˜learnings’ from the game?

Saw Rutten in the Richmond box last night and thought thank god we’re done with that

I assume D’Ambrosio was dropped for lack of defensive efforts, I mean he got 27 possessions in his last game.
Hind is possibly similar, not a great defender

Agree but todays goals by the smalls weren’t from body positioning, more general play, crumbing which our guys can handle

They did well in dragging Redman out of the play. It was really McGrath or bust.

Hind should have played over Davey who was overawed. And I am no Hind fan.

Almost time to get games into Bryan I think. Phillips is stop gap at best.

In the last qtr our injury list told the tale.

There was a Collingwood ā€œgentlemanā€ in front of me…older…stick thin……sleeveless shirt that was unbearable. Got up and started waving the Essendon supporters leaving and commenced with the ā€œCollingwoodā€ chant.

I may have….may have….made a loud-ish comment about seeing the track marks on his arm.

I’m sure if there were any Essendon supporters around me, they would have appreciated it.

Especially when Lav went down. It changed the course of the game IMO.
