You could pretty much close the thread here.

We canāt even Essington properly anymore.
This was a really poor-standard game. North were poor because they arenāt capable of playing well, and we were poor because we took the game too easily and we all too often do against poor opposition.
Most players did something good at some stage and just about all of them did at least as many bad things. Itās really rather worrying. Weāve been winning close games on the basis of playing very high pressure football, but we donāt seem to have a lot of system in attack. There will be more media this week about how good we are and what a professional win it was, and itās probably about time for someone like Kane Cornes or David King to make a headline by asking, āCan Essendon win the premiership this year?ā
But the answer to that question is 100% no, and having got to second weāll now probably drop in form and drop games against the better teams. Our current ladder position flatters us.
A good win is a win where your side plays their best footy.
Margin really isnāt that relevant. It wasnt our best footy
Average score against last 5 rounds is = 71.8
If we can do a proper job on the Tiggies next week we could push that close to sub 70.
But like most. Not much convincing about today. Midfield got a touch up, Goldy looks a bit knackered & Durham ankle a concern. Hopeful all good along with Parish. Need them both in there.
Maybe because their only strength is their midfield and Xerri is so underrated.
Northās losing margins at their home venue (Marvel) this year:
26
56
45
38
(Average losing margin - 41 points)
We won by 40.
Pre-game delusions of grandeur this was going to be 60, 70, 80, 90 + points.
We have not played our best footy for 4 quarters since 2000.
This club is Uber-farked.
No wonder our midfield was pantsed Durham played on one foot
It was our best result vs North in quite a while so there is that?
Maybe North just matchup well and bring out our worst habits?
Yes, there were 3 of them behind the goals.
Cam Zuurhar is a POS. Not for anything he did today, or dirty acts. heās just ![]()
Buyer beware for anyone considering him as a free agent
We won well, as we should.
There was a lot to like about our game. But we need to a) improve our disposals and b) lower our eyes going into the forward line. The only problem when 2MP is doing well is that the team gets lazy and starts just bombing the ball in long. We nearly always do best when we lower our eyes.
They did very well against us on the outside of the contest and in centre breaks.
Poor Langford had a horror game where couldnāt catch anything.
Hopefully Duz is okay.
I hope the club does a good job keeping the team focused for next week. Another win like that and we are preparing ourselves for a good second half of the season.
Of their smaller forwards curtis is a goer
You think it was a good win? You have low standards.
I dunno. itās still a work in progress . probably the worst midfield performace of the year aside from port game. the y been playing insanely good pressure footy for most of the year . I forgive them for being a bit flat against a team that we literally were never going to lose to.
itās the bye you have when not having a bye . Im not crook on them for having a bit of a bludge and long as it ends at this game
Nice day out with the twins. Nervous first half followed by a very professional 3rd quarter.
Couldāve Essingtonāed and didnāt. Mature FC.
Guefli said it post game there are no easy games anymore
Good easy win and up to second. Things look exciting
