As a nervous Bomber fan, the only thing more heart wrenching than watching us defend a lead against a good team like Melbourne, is watching us defend a lead against a good team like Melbourne on 2 hours delay and not knowing the result but knowing that fate has already happened.

This is really lovely viewing.
I know this is going to sound like hyperbole, and I’m not at all comparing the sides, obviously.
But…watching it (and obviously knowing the result) there’s a very old school Essendon feel about it.
In that it’s like…oh, the other team has the ball for a moment. I wonder how we’ll get it back?
And…oh, they scored a goal. Momentary breakdown, there. Also they were a bit lucky…

We’ve known them so well over the years and now we have to get to know them all over again as they’ve changed their look.
I loved them before but absolutely loving the new look.

No love for Lav. Thought it was his best game this year, though has been poor in other games.
Heppell was actually really good. After being dropped he has picked up his game.
Also, unpopular opinion…Shiel was terrible today. He made like 20 fumbles/errors and hack kicked a lot. Mostly in the 2nd half.
Not to mention Caldwell…He can’t get the ball much.
