I thought Lav was poor early, but worked his way into the game.
I’ve never been sure about Caldwell.
I don’t know if he just isn’t being used right, or he is being used right and is developing and that’s okay, or…
Double header?
The other query is if it’s our home game why were we wearing the clash strip?
Ohhh right, so Port fans got to the game later on or were @ the pub keeping warm. That explains it.
It’s not actually a home game. Gather Round is an extra game for everybody, so there’s a coin toss to determine whose “home game” it is. We lost the coin toss.
We are playing 23 games this year, 11 home 11 away and this extra game.
For the thousandth time.
Probably the same clown that wanted him dropped. Man we’ve got some ignorant supporters!
Agree with most of your post but watch the replay and see who Caldwell ran with.
I gave him 3 votes, loved his game.
Superb win Bombers. Guts … class and dare. We were all over these Demons. Next!
Except Port and crows get this extra home game - they should play against each other if it stays in adelaide in future.
Great win and still plenty to improve on as well.
Was a bit critical of Scott saying how fans have to remain patient as hoping we could have a season similar to Collingwood’s last year with their new coach.
Anyway onto Anzac Day. Hope we smash them! We are due!
To be fair, you have to give Ben credit for innovation, he has pieces that weren’t even there when he started.
Simon Goodwin post match:
“I’ll continue to say it. Essendon, they’re a good footy team. They’re on the improve, and… they’re going to be around the mark. They’re playing some good footy.”
We are definitely kicking flatter this year.
It’s not even close.
Hopefully doesn’t take as long as Flip to hot his peak
@mods can we not have spoilers in thread titles?
I really rated Jones’ game last week, but he didn’t get to anywhere near as many contests today.
And I’ve rarely seen a guy who wants to kick for goal less than him today, even though he nailed one.
I’m not usually one for sending a guy to the magoos to regain form, but gosh…you’d have to consider it.
He’s a beautiful kick of the football.
He runs hard, and the way he floats in for a mark with no-one touching him is…it’s good.
I feel like VFL is a different sport, though.
Slower.
More thuggery.
And also, I feel like against Collingwood we want to press our height advantage.
It’s a tricky one.
If Voss destroys tomorr… today, then…man, I still don’t know…
Isn’t most of the assistant coaches unchanged? Isn’t Gia the midfield coach the same as last year?
A good bad is that there were at least three goals from easy to fix mistakes.
There was a dud handball from Durham (I think) to Merrett that caused a turnover and a goal.
Another one where Durham went away from an opponent to contest a Melbourne player who was already under a little bit of pressure. It then got handballed to the bloke who Durham left free and they were off. An easy mistake to make by trying to tackle a bloke with the ball. But would have been better to keep the set up where he couldn’t run forward and had no to pass to.
And Draper in the last went to ground in a contest that then meant Petracca could waltz away with the footy because Draper was no longer in the contest.
