Review thread: Western Sydney Humidity

Cept the GPS machine was busted.

GWS’ GPS stats were way down too.

■■■■■■ data or not, it’s the same issue. We don’t work anywhere near hard enough for each other and put ourselves under more pressure than we should be.

Fk, just remembered Cameron slamming Merrett in the goal square too and not one Essendon player going near him.

As punishment I think the players should have to sit through the video of the game twice a day every day for three days. Its like medication it has to sink in.

Myers missing a target 20 meters away by foot by a good 5 meters under no pressure what so ever was even worse to watch the second time.

It’s happened for years! We are 100% the most non physical side in the competition

I had a meeting this morning with a group of American contractors that are in Melbourne delivering a bunch of training courses that I’m involved in. I asked them if they have been able to have a look around Melbourne, and they replied that they have and they they even got to the football to see Collingwood and Geelong. I mentioned that wasn’t the best example of an what an AFL game could be and one of them replied “Well, at least it didn’t end up being like those guys that got beaten by 70 points yesterday. That would suck”.

Even people who had never even seen a game of AFL before this weekend are laughing at us. Pathetic.

Sure.
But you don’t need crap data to make that point.

Kudos for your bravery (or masochism) to do that. The commentators on 7 were positive about our defensive structures early on. Saying we managed to do well and restrict GWS at the beginning. So we did ok at the beginning. But lost our nerve and ability to stick to a plan. Or adapt to the match as it progressed and changed and challenged us

This was such an important match to be switched on for. So much to be excited about and put on a strong performance. Not necessarily win - but take it up to one of last year’s finalists. Make sure the big name recruit you got can feel good about the club he chose. But it just didn’t happen. One or two not turning up on the day - sure that happens. But for the whole side to play the way they did - that’s a big concern. Mindset is a big issue for this team, but that can be fixed as we saw 2nd half last season that they can play well. But go figure why it has to be so hard to see that type of application without reaching crisis mode.

And we had a spareman at the contest.

So we out numbered them around the ball, and they still flogged us in the contest.
Some serious passengers.

Can I have the whips, nipple clamps and gimp mask when you’re done, you sadistic freak?

Its all so similar to last year.

Anzac Day, Melbourne, Hawthorn and Carlton we all started ok, I think even led at 1/4 or 1/2 time. But for some reason it fell away to steaming pile of ■■■■.

It seems to me like they can get themselves ready mentally at the start after they run out, but once scoring becomes difficult and the opposition kick a couple of we just die in the ■■■■.

Says it all about the mindset of our players.

Or the last 15 years.

Every time we bombed long their defender would spoil it out of bounds or at least out of harms way.

Kills me when our entries are so wide to the pockets. Even if we take the mark with those entries, it’s a near on impossible shot for goal.

Their entries were deep and central. The ball would come off hands and they would have crumbers front and centre because they actually work hard.

Francis was the only player that actually spoiled the ball with purpose, out of bounds like their defenders were doing all day

So was it just more busted for us?

Agree.

Although why pick out Myers…you can start with Hurley in the first 10 minutes, and mark that exact play down against pretty much everyone in the side across the course of the game.

Ones nicknamed Bear, the other is the left leg

Didn’t someone mention previously, Shiel commenting on the difference in training standards between GWS and Essendon, i.e. GWS going hard like in game and the Bombers taking a less intense approach? It showed in yesterday’s result if so. All about culture and expectations

Hmmm. Sounds like the mark and possession counting machine might have been malfunctioning as well.
