Two observations:
- Martin is soft and very timid if pressure looms
- Setterfield is a very ordinary footballer.
And no I won’t comment on Jones - don’t want to be banned.

I think a problem has been we’ve wanted particular roles to be played and have tried player X, Y and Z and for different reasons they haven’t worked out (not good at the role) or been available.
So development of players and postions hasn’t progressed as hoped/planned.

I don’t know about filthy scum Anymore. I reserve that for Carlton. It’s a phenomenal yearly battle. A grand final of sorts every year. We’re young. We had a crack. Move on.

The question needs to be why though. I wish I had the answer to that.
Simply not good enough, they were a class above. Our ability to execute our skills is still an enormous issue and mostly related to the over 25 players, who should be leading the way.
Our first quarter effort was deplorable, yes we fought back…which was pleasing but once again our leaders let us down at the start and generally when we needed them to stand up they were nowhere to be found.
Caddy, Kako, Durham, Reid were all good. The bad, Langford, Martin, Shiel, Redman, Setterfield, Gresham…Merretts worst for the year….we were soundly beaten
Upside: we have a lot of injuries and are not getting thumped. Our under 25s continue to show good form….for goodness sake play Tsatis and El Hawli……don’t care how good Shiel has been (until today) he ain’t part of next premiership

That said, pies are one of the flag favourites. To be with them a positive to a degree. To just lose our marbles for 10mins in q3 and game is gone a negative however

Today was a thumping
Bit rough on Menzie. You bring on a small forward for the last qtr and the ball spends nearly the entire qtr up the other end, it’s pretty bloody hard to have any real impact.
Additionally didn’t think Setterfield was rubbish. Would have him in the top half of our players for the day. His biggest issue was his disposal efficiency was really low, but almost identical to Zach Merrett.
The two Mc’s should consider themselves lucky they aren’t on it either.

I just hope that the club has that answer. Plus a proper(honest) understanding of where we are at and what we need to do with the list and training etc to try and get to become a competitive side.

It was more than Collingwood played shallow when we expected them to go deep.
We played way off our opponents.
We allowed an obscene amount of uncontested football.
Basically we tried to play slingshot while they played numbers around the contest, and that was just really dumb.
As I’ve said before, it showed a lack of knowledge, and respect for the specific game they were playing, let alone the conditions.

The one later where he was on his own for 5 minutes on the HFF was just incredible. How was it possible that no one would go near him?

He needs to learn to compete in the air, even if just to give a way a free and slow them down, at the moment he sits on the ground and hopes they drop it … when we have no other presence in the contest.

Caldwell and Drapes were, and will be, sorely missed. Pies just too good.
Thought Duursma tried hard. Reid awesome. Mcgrath owned Hill apart from that last quarter play on howler. Marto was disappointing. Thought Goldy and 2MP tried hard and Langers didnt tear a string so thats good. Oh and Roberts killed Mcreery. He is a gem.
