Review v filthy scum

Seemed like we were okay when it wasn’t raining much, and got slapped around when it was.

Find it difficult to understand how Daicos can be that open and have an uncontested shot for goal 2 minutes into the game. A) it’s Daicos and B) we’ve just gone through our pre-match. Great insight into their mindset. Dumb.

Its like we dont rate him, which is just stupid. Now he is a player id guve three firsts for

We need Elliot and Sidebum to retire. Continually kill us.

Would it have made that much difference to the result today if we played Tsatas, SEH & Davey, instead of any mix of Jones, Shiel, Setters, Prior or Langers. Then moved Perkins to the bench.

I think not. At least then we would have gotten some more big game experience into players we desperately need more of and would have helped in the conditions.

Several in here had him in the votes and I think one gave him 3 votes :rofl::rofl:

We are rooted if that’s the case. Jesus wept

Where the Fark did they even get Elliot from?!

i think when this game is rewatched missing Shiel
in the last quarter was pretty pivotal for us losing run.
the commentators said it was just cramps but you don’t stay on the bench the whole qtr with cramps.

And then if it was cramp got to blame Scott somewhat in running him into the ground.

We did better than last years premiers did on their home ground last week against them

Didnt even notice shiel going off

Injuries killing us thie year we are going to run out of players to bring in at this rate

Who was on Elliot

Yeah a sprinkle of b and c graders to add to the rest of our b and c graders would bridge the gap

This was always going to be a challenging game with the players missing. The selection made it tougher, not for the first time. And then, in the first quarter, when we gifted them so much space and momentum, we looked like we might get done.

To recover from that and ■■■■■■ the lead from the supposed premiership favourite was a great effort. Disappointing that we couldn’t go on with it, but it’s not surprising. The final margin flattered them, but we weren’t good enough in the conditions.

I often feel we go into games behind the 8-ball because of selection. We get it structurally wrong, erring to go tall when we need more zip, and the wrong players repeatedly. That was the case today.

We were badly outcoached early, and our game plan wasn’t well-adapted to the conditions or opponent. We looked best when we moved the ball quickly and had better movement across the ground. But then there was the repeated, infuriating practice of taking a mark, barely looking forward to take ground, and then kicking it backwards. We lost the territory battle for most of the match.

Some players are looking very dodgy now. Redman is a shadow of the player he was a few years back. He needs a change of role or to be dropped. We know about Jones and Prior isn’t hard enough. Hobbs is a frustrating player because he can find the ball, but he is a bad combination of a dumb footballer with poor disposal. Gresham has become invisible, Menzie is a klutz, and so on.

I don’t care about where we finish this year. I know we’re a young side, but I hope by the second half of the season, some of the promising up-and-comers are getting games ahead of those we know won’t take us anywhere.

The missing Langford means we lost two goal kickers this season, he looks more like the crappy second half last year Langford than 23/early 24 model, fits with this list of flashed of above average before regressing to useless again

we never make changes to anything mid game anyway so i’m not sure this would have affected anything

was probably off all game and we didn’t notice until after half time

From hitting the front mid to late second term this team shouldn’t then get bounced by 7 goals.

Just a soft club.
