To my eye it looked the effort was there. We just weren’t as good. That’s our level this year.

Defence stood up fairly well for a chunk of the game when the mids got dominated, dam wall broke eventually.
I have grave fears that North are going to win their grand final next week.

I wasn’t surprised. I don’t think anyone really should be, if they’ve been paying attention.
The only thing I got wrong was I thought the scores would be lower in the rain, but we actually kicked halfway decent for goal.
We’re not very good. We do good things, but not good enough and not for long enough.
This is a rebuild and I’m not under any delusion it’s anything more than that… we carry older blokes who are clearly past it in order to keep the kids from being destroyed.

Playing off their men…not treating the game with the respect it deserves.
I really don’t want to be over-critical of Scott, but far more than the going in too tall thing, that was just a fundamental, basic error.
I honestly don’t know what he was hoping for even if everything went our way playing like that.
And to be fair, it can’t be just him, that has to fall onto the whole coaching panel.
They honestly thought that was the ideal way to play the first quarter of an ANZAC Day game.
In the wet.
It would be kind to call them incompetent.
Less kind and more accurate would be to say they were…complete morons bereft of any sort of tactical nouse or knowledge of the history of the game.
