It’s my fault now?

Oh so he wasn’t relating us not handling hub life to this performance in the review thread? Yeah, gotcha.

Fans need to voice theirs frustrations at the club

I feel like fans give more of a fck about winning than the team

They are out to preserve & promote their best interests which in this case are contrary to the interests of the EFC. Our aim is to win, we have the best chance of doing that forcing GWS to come to the Dome where they rarely play & rarely win. We also should be looking out for the players interests who would rightfully see that they are the only Vic side forced away from home & family.

It was me Nino. I said to Truck ‘we’re tracking well… I’m happy with 9th… play Hooker and Zaha’

The boys really brought great energy tonight. Lying on the beach and playing golf had them perfectly prepared for the job at hand.

What a wonderful opportunity it’s been to support the broader ambitions of the competition by playing home games at metricon. So proud and happy to be a bomber supporter right now. Can’t wait for another stellar showing at “the home of footy” next week against the Swans!

Zerk (especially) and Francis were $hit in the VFL game from what I saw.

No - just the trope that X is the boogyman, borrrring.

July is the worst month of the season by far to watch footy. It’s a miserable month with the weather conditions as they are, dark, gloomy and difficult to get motivated to do anyrhing.

This time of year is when we probably see the most uninspiring football being played due to the long grind of the season and the lure of finals still being over a month away. It’s a lot different to the quality of football being played at the beginning of the year in the warmer months when the season’s just started and players are feeling lighter in the legs and feel like they’re running over the top of the ground.

This time of year with players carrying niggles, carrying possibly more severe injuries and just trying to get through a game each week (Tippa perhaps?), feeling heavy in the legs as if they’re trugding through a Windy Hill gluepot constantly you get these type of games which are downright frustrating to watch.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m just as disappointed as every other poster on here about the past few weeks and in particular tonight’s result but I’m just trying to provide a bit of perspective about where we and all the other clubs are that are vying for a spot in the top eight.

The last month has shown how hard it has been to just jump into the eight for these clubs let alone stay there. All of Fremantle, Richmond, Giants and us have had opportunities to cement ourselves in the eight only to squaunder our chances once we got there. Also look how tough it’s been for Fark Carlton just to try and keep in touch ( lol but fark them anyway).

My point is that we’re not the only ones to be struggling at this time of year, heck even the top sides bar Geelong have looked quite ordinary at times this month.

July is just hard work for everyone each year including for us fans. It may seem like we’re treading water like we have for the past 15 years and that its shithouse that we need to wait even farking longer to break our finals win drought, but if we get through this month and get back to some of the dynamic play that we saw earlier in the year to finish off the year then I reckon the season would’ve been a success, regardless of whether we make finals or not. This season is all about the bigger picture of future success not just this year. I believe the club is still on the right path for the future despite tonight’s dispirited performance.

Come at me if you all think I’m just being a happy clapper.

If efc = a Hooker & goals = 10k a goal we r farked and rich

Said this in the NM review thread. Last two weeks we have looked identical to the way we played last year, where we were listless and looked completely derived of any passion and spirit in our games when we’ve had to hub away from home.
I’ll say it again…this team can’t do the hub. Mentally we just can’t get up for it.

You are then letting the opposition dictate placement of the best clearance mid in the comp since Rd.3.

He will need to cope with Tags.
That’s the cost of becoming a top line mid.

Well then we are completely ■■■■■■ if this pea heart bunch of pansies cannot go to sunny Queensland for 2 weeks and play a couple of games of football while getting paid 300k a year

Total agree with this. And seriously, if you look at some of the posts in here and at the tail end of the match thread (from some quite well respected posters) it’s interesting also to look at some of the posts in the fark Carlton thread from last night, hanging ■■■■ on them for melting down over a loss to North farking Melbourne. We’ve got people in here tonight making Tanking Carlton look like a farking MENSA convention. Honestly its as though some of them need shame as some sort of ■■■■■■ up masturbatory aide. Maybe they should concentrate on the fact that theyare making us look worse than tanking Carlton, instead of a poor performance from a team that’s been pretty ok this year. I reckon it’ll get them over the line quicker.

Looking forward to adding McGrath, Langers, Caldwell, Francis, Jones and Reid to that team tonight and playing our fair share of games at our actual home. With another year of maturity we should be trending north. Zero selection pressure isn’t ideal but it is what it is

The AFLs only concern at the moment is keeping the competition going.

If that’s the case can we least do the same to the oppos best mid fck me im sick and tired of the oppos best mids destroying us because we refuse to tag

Haha. Spot on. Nuffies are nuffies, every club has them.

I cringe when I see the quoting of other fans forums, as if they’re any better or worse than here; I’m sure they’re doing the exact same to us.

We all expected us to be about 13th at this point of the year, we’re actually 9th and we just lost to 10th.
You’d think we just lost a prelim.

The important thing for this side, at this point of their development is learning the lessons, taking them into next year.
How the ■■■■ does DP3 only touch it 15 times. How do we get the ball to Tippa and Stringer, in tight games. How do our 2 key forward kick 1.5 between them. etc.

All fixable.
