You still grasping on to the fantasy that being the ONLY vic club to hub in Qld, unsettling our players & then giving up our home ground advantage followed by sacrificing a prime time Friday night slot (at a minimum is we get to come back to Vic) in any way shape or form does anything but benefit the AFL & their agenda while damaging the club & its interests?

Dear god. The AFL are not out to get us.

They are out to preserve & promote their best interests which in this case are contrary to the interests of the EFC. Our aim is to win, we have the best chance of doing that forcing GWS to come to the Dome where they rarely play & rarely win. We also should be looking out for the players interests who would rightfully see that they are the only Vic side forced away from home & family.

The AFLs only concern at the moment is keeping the competition going.

Please explain to me exactly how EFC going to Qld is the only way that could have been facilitated? There is no reason why GWS couldn’t have come to Melb. Instead they will benefit from teams being forced to fly up to QLD to play them when they could just as easily have remained hubbed in Melb.

At the time the AFL believed they would be able to get the Sydney clubs families straight into QLD which was not the case in VIC.

So once again because you were incapable of understanding it the 1st few times - the AFL put the interests of Sydney clubs above the interests of EFC & its EFC players, families & members who have been penalised. Which part of X being employed for the single solitary reason of representing the EFC interests don’t you understand? How is allowing the EFC to be disadvantaged anything but the opposite of what X is there to achieve? It doesn’t matter what the AFL believed, the fact is that North were always going to leave QLD so there was zero need for that game to be played in Qld. It was only done to get EFC cornered where we had no choice but to remain there for GWS’s benefit & also to allow the AFL to stagger the fixture & have back to back to back games. Again this is not in any way in the EFC’s interests & not only has it cost us home ground advantage this week we miss out on a Friday night game on TV next. We only had 2 of these primetime home games this year.

All I am arguing is that the AFL do not have a vendetta against Essendon which is what some people are trying to suggest. If another Melbourne club had the 2 Sydney teams coming up, they would have been given the same orders from the AFL.

You think Collingwood, Geelong, Hawthorn, Carlton etc would have meekly surrendered home games with finals on the line? The point is & was that X once again simply tongues the AFL’s nuts. This club has no fight on or off the field. This was arguably one of if not the most important games the club has had in a decade - a genuine chance to put ourselves in the 8 with some breathing space. Instead we ship our players off interstate, lose any advantage we might have had.

As Chris Scott said during the week, the clubs have little to no say on where they play each week. You can be hysterical about it and cry conspiracy but at the end of the day the AFL made the decision in the best interest of keeping the comp afloat. That’s all.

If it was Collingwood, Geelong, Hawthorn or Carlton with the identical fixture they would be in QLD instead of us. We are just unlucky.

Again, you a free to believe what you want & I’m free to believe you will swallow the official line past the swivel. No other Vic club is hubbed in QLD. That is proof positive that its not necessary. As I’ve pointed out & you’ve failed to address there is a clear disadvantage to EFC. This again is absolute proof that the AFL have put the interests of GWS above EFC’s. You can try to pass that off as a conspiracy theory but its the facts. EFC have been disadvantaged in order to support GWS. There is no reason we had to play North up there & no reason why GWS players couldn’t fly in/out of Melb OR remain hubbed here instead of in Qld. I firmly believe other clubs would have at an absolute minimum fought tooth & nail to keep the game in Melb. We barely gave a whimper.

Been a huge concern for years and unbelievably it feels like it’s gotten even worse this year. It’s got to the stage now where unless one of our forwards take an unexpected big contested mark (because our just don’t f uckin lead period) the ball hits the ground and the opposition just continue to take it out with ease. Only thing worse is our defending from kick-ins. I hope to God that our coaches make these two areas the priorities to fix this preseason

Worst game we’ve played for quite some time. The only players who can (barely) hold their heads up were 2MP, Durham,Cox and Perkins for mine. The rest all went to water at various stages. I suspect being stuck in Queensland is beginning to grind on the group but I hate that as an excuse tbh.

Because he played a half decent game and I think could squeeze out a rising age nom with a bit of luck.

this game is on xavier campbell and management. there’s no doubt the result would be different had we played at marvel. management doesn’t have the guts to stand up for the team and fan base against the afl, unlike geelong and collingwood, now the team is out of the finals race and they no doubt pay the price with diminished revenue.

management should be held responsible for a disappointingly short conclusion to a season that had so much excitement about it.

GWS are a side of jets. They have been built on countless first rounders.

So their individual skills are never under question. It’s their application and cohesion as a team.

We all know that cutler and ham are ■■■■. Zaka is cooked as is hooker (but we don’t have a replacement). Tippa, I have never seen play so bad for such a long time.

The biggest take away tonight was our zone was broken immediately and we did nothing much to change it, especially in Q4 when we should have. Our ■■■■ zone also makes it hard to chase down as we are too far apart when they ping it back out of our 50. It’s why you see Smith run like nuts for 50M but doesn’t get near anyone.

Would rather get pick 5 than 8, getting ducked by port in SA would not be a good outcome.

Tidy the zone
Teach parish how to break a tag
Not play zaka, ham or cutler anymore
Get tippa a rest or surgery or whatever the ■■■■ it is he needs.
Learn how to quickly drop the zone, stop the run on of goals
Learn how to kick a ■■■■■■■ set shot
