Review vs Crows

One of the only ones that really does.

Stop thinking about Essendon. They don’t deserve the angst.

Go out and have a good weekend.

In a way im glad we lost. Because our ladder position was false in terms of the quality of our list. Now we are going to lose games and finish where we are supposed to be. This list is terrible, many years are needed to fix this if they ever can.

Our defence’s inability to kill a ball is extremely worrying. Ridley, McKay and Redman give me zero confidence most of the time. While McGrath just burns it on the way out every time.

Woke up today and still feel sick from last night. That was just disgusting. It mentally drains you and ruins your weekend.

I’m not going to anymore games this season, don’t even feel like watching them on TV. Need a detox from EFC and maybe I’ll be refreshed for next season if some serious changes take place on the field. Another false dawn, it makes me think back to when the slip started and tbh I reckon the Dreamtime game against Richmond who are absolutely ā– ā– ā– ā–  this year is when it reared its ugly head.

Coming that close to a club that is in its post premiership slump was remarkable. At the time we dusted it off and took the four points. But then it just got bumpier and bumpier after that game.

So, I’d go find a new hobby or get excited about other sports. Personally for me, the EPL is coming up and I’ll be watching Ipswich Town so hopefully they do well.

This season honestly did look so promising and there was some improvement but overall, they ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  us again. Whoever they are, I still don’t know - but why the ā– ā– ā– ā–  is Dodoro still hanging around? Why are we holding onto deadwood and giving them contract extensions, yet giving away promising players like D’ambrosio. What role do the Essendonians and other cotorie groups have in the team’s decisions? Is Brad Scott actually competent or is it still too early to tell? Something very bad in the culture at the Hanger. I feel bad for guys like Heppell who will never get a sniff of success. Most of all I feel bad for us fans who have stuck by through so much crap, only to be disappointed yet again and exiting the season early. The club, both on field and off field, needs another review and this time it almost needs to start again as a new club. Take the trophies down at the entrance of the hanger, past glories doesn’t even apply anymore when the past is soooo far away now. The year 2000 is too far down the track for us to even be living on past glories. We’re not a great club anymore and haven’t been for decades.

Two issues with recruitment. One - we dont recruit smart football players Two - we dont recruit players desperate to win. You know why our best players are mid season top ups? It’s because they know its their last chance and they make every post a winner. Our round 1 and 2 picks all lack mental strength and desperation - like rich kids expect everything to be handed to them by their parents.

He was very not happy

What excuse can I give myself to jump ship and support another team? I can’t do this anymore.

I think this is correct, we shouldn’t be regarding this game as losing to a poor team. We should regard it as throwing a game we had won away.

Barrack for the Matilda’s.

The Sydney academy players that have everything handed to them from day dot seem to do ok.

I thought the opposition looked pretty good too.

Whats changed from earlier in the year seems to be clearance dominance and our forward efficiency has completely tanked.

When we got centre clearances we generated some quick goals.

Turning point seems to have been two fold. When Langford took a knock to his hip over a month ago and when we played Caddy for Jones 1 week suspension.

Jones to the Wing and Caddy forward seems to be working but efficiency is still terrible for the whole group.

Stringer can’t find the football and we have it seems low pressure when the ball hits the deck.

Wright hasnt been the same really since our finest legal minds and the club dogged it when it came to backing his marking contest in Sydney.

Highly unpopular opinion, but I thought we really missed Hep’s calmness on the last line. Not to say that he didn’t deserve to be dropped.

I think there’s more to explore with this point.

Draft more players who have nothing but AFL going for them, as opposed to players who just see AFL as a vehicle to fund their outside ventures

McGrath and his day spa
Shiel and his property investing
Stringer and his child support payments

Give me more Baguleys, hibberds and Durhams.

Bottle this blitz. There’s more to it but contest and effort is the starting point of any thorough review.

This club deserves to have its entire fan base slide into apathy, and fight for its actual survival. That’s how poorly it’s been run, and how ā– ā– ā– ā–  the value proposition barracking for Essendon represents.

It’s both. Coaches set up how to play and players have to execute. Crows played man on man when we didn’t have the ball - chipping the ball around was difficult. Needed courage and skill from the players….

Ignoring whatever happened in the second term for a moment, we scored 1 point from a shot in the goal square, a 40 meter set shot and an open goal on the run from 30 meters. 1 point. In total. That’s the result right there.

There was a shiteload wrong elsewhere too, of course.

I’ve told Heff10 he’s free to follow any team.

I don’t care anymore. The club certainly doesn’t so no use wasting energy on them.

There are far more important things happening in life then getting worked up about a bunch of ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  who can’t stand up to pressure. These players wouldn’t last a morning out in the wild, ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  useless.

I won’t be subjecting my little one to the EFC. I’ve already made that call. They can support carlton for all I care. Probably better for her mental health.
