Has Wright ever played well in the wet?

THERE IS NO ESCAPE

To be fair, I don’t think he’s played well in dry weather this season.

No.

Not sure Scott will give us much at the presser.

Think in the Wet Setterfield was a no brain selection, but he is floundering as an emergency.

And probably Goldstein as the better tap ruckman.

Pick those two…maybe laverde over Redman and we might have found the right cattle.

Still think though Melbourne have such a lot of class

The 8’s no guarantee

Why does it seem like every time an undermanned opposition coach comes up with some slight tactic changes when we should have an advantage it always works?

It’s like we constantly get blindsided and have no response. Stubborn coaching by Brad but feels like it’s been a constant theme for 20 years.

I have zero faith we would win a final even with two chances, we just can’t handle the pressure when things don’t go out way.

Yes and no, I think you have us on the high side of average

Still don’t think we are a finals contender yet. If we don’t make the finals nothing will happen, players won’t get moved on.

We still lack power from inside the walls of Essendon football club by making tough decisions.

We have improved with recruiting players from last year but was always going to take a season for them to gel, most have settled in nicely though.

Redman trade
Guelfi trade
Wright trade

Make some tough calls and get something decent in return.

So would have Setterfield

I was gonna post at half time the difference between both teams on how they played the conditions was laid before us

Second quarter

Pickett I think half volleyed a ball in dispute forward just for field position. I think it was the one that Melksham dished off from his knees for yet another fkn Dees goal from nothing

Literally 5 mins later Martin tries to take possession under pressure when he could’ve toed it forward to gain some territory
Got tackled ball up

That’s where our coaches should be earning their $$ and have to adjust on the fly

Until we can do that - yeah 5-8tj on the ladder is where we are at

agreed - although we might get back in briefly (to flirt for the umteenth time) in 2 or 3 weeks from now, but that will be it and a slide way down to 6th or below will happen. Take poor form into the first week of the finals and get flogged. Sound familiar?

He didn’t help, he was woeful

As our most experienced player, he should be standing up under pressure. Not wilting and killing the team

The were other terrible players, who will rightfully cop it in their threads

Add Merrett
The selections tonight concern me about the wisdom and nepotism of our coaches

Who cares, we’re ■■■■■■■ pretenders

Not tough enough. Played stupid football, over possession in the wet. The following players again fail when the heat is on:

Heppell
Stringer
Wright
Guelfi
Perkins
McGrath
Gresham
Redman

I’m tempted to put Langford in there but 2 goals and 15 disposals in the wet isn’t too bad. That’s one that if you want to be taken seriously you win. We still get opened up way too easily out the back.

Yep. He doesn’t tap to our players. He just taps, or bashes.

I’m certainly not suggesting drop them or even they are playing poorly. They are still cracking in.

But Merrett has class beyond both of them at the moment. I think they’ll both catch up and we’ll be less reliant on Zach to be the midfield hurt factor, but just at the moment, not quite there.
