This was a classic Rutten-esque game plan tonight. Going sideways. Not looking for the centering kick out of HB. Bomb to a 1 on 2 contest in the F50. This type of game results in Parish becoming a ball watcher, because there is no flow, and then our small forwards are caught totally out of position, and Stringer doesn’t know what to do. How many goals from small forwards tonight?? One - Guelfi, and that was the only time we moved the ball quick courtesy of that Hind run through the guts.

We were like that before the Worsfold era.
Always hit a point in the season where we hit a wall and collapse.
And Heppell needs a rest. Couldn’t handle two games in 5 days.
And Stringer must be injured. Rest him too.
And Parish is a one-way street. No defence. Get rid of him.

Flip was great.
Even though it was English who helped turn it for them, he was one of our best over most of the game.

It’s a shame that we haven’t really unearthed any new players this year.
Hobbs has got better which is good.
Perkins hasn’t really taken the step we’d hoped.
Menzie looks like a find, but that’s about it.
This is the same 22 as last year and we’re getting similar results right now.

Wtf is going on with our fwd line pressure, or lack of it? We have tippa, wanganeed, menzie, davey sitting on the pine and yet we chose to play an injured stringer and an out of form guelf and snelling.
Bring in some youth ffs, and stop relying on these seasoned plodders.
