Can you please name the senior players we are not playing instead of the ‘kids’ we literally just ■■■■■■■ subbed Saad out for Shiel hahaha
He would if we paid enough money.
But he’d probably just take the money and dish up the same crap as Scott.
We want someone who is as passionate about the club as we are
Bring back Hird
Clarkson would have been hammered by 100 points last night with our list.
I really don’t think sacking Scott will make an ounce of difference. I don’t think he has lost the “locker room” at all.
And it’s not like our list is necessarily bad. It just needs continual investment.
It’s not like our debutants have been terrible. In fact it’s what’s given us the most excitement this year.
That part is good coaching.
you could see the players were trying but that tsunami in the first quarter as overwhelming . we had some 5 minute patches here and there after that where you could see they were trying but the dogs were utterly ruthless last night and didn’t let us even get close to a look in.
we will have good patches this year and probably another belting or 2, as long as the young players don’t lose too much heart and still push hard when we do get a look in
El Hawli is very ordinary. I don’t get the hype over him. VFL player at best.
All good. At least you made an effort to go to the game which is a lot more than most.
Caldwell, Durham, Merrett you don’t rate as midfielders?
the coaches have got to make moves they think will help the team at any given time . Sheil had some good games this year so I have no idea why Saad was subbed out . I don’t think there was any harm to try to throw in an experienced player who has impacted some games this year to try to stop the bleeding . it didn’t make much difference to try something anyway. game was a write off anyway
So why not sub off a player like Langford to send a message to the group that this isnt good enough?
we got completely smashed by their midfield last night . we seems to have the same setup and same result almost everytime . it was weird . players normally move themselves around a bit but last night we seem to be a bit like a deer on the headlights . everyone was just off
yeah could have subbed anyone out last night and it wouldnt have made any difference . you can’t really send much in the way of messages when you get thumped like that . I reckon you send messages in games you should have won of it was a particular part of the game we stuffed up. can’t do that when you get totally dominated across the whole game
This was a post made by Aceman in the match day thread and it raised a point that too often gets overlooked.
Blitz tends to rate the midfield. I’m not sure I feel the same way. If our midfield is rate worthy the team doesn’t lose by 15 goals.
Far too many passengers in our midfield and maybe even those actually worthy of praise just aren’t that good.
Our midfield is terrible. Merrett is the only one who is A and the rest although eventually can get high numbers just because someone has to get the ball are all C at best in league terms
You awful man. We have suffered enough.
we got completely smashed by their midfield last night . we seems to have the same setup and same result almost everytime . it was weird . players normally move themselves around a bit but last night we seem to be a bit like a deer on the headlights . everyone was just off
Goldstein got destroyed in the ruck. Their mids had first use. And they got numbers to the contest when they didn’t.
It’s going to happen this year.
The double blow of Bryan and Draper is a brutal one.
It’s weird to say in a 100 point loss, but there were decent patches I was still impressed by our side. They don’t dip their heads and give up.
I actually back Scott to get them to respond against the tiges
Goldstein is the back up to the back up. Not sure what expectations people have for him.
Little.
We were outclassed by a very good football side.
A thrashing is hard to take and there’s things we could/should have done in game to bring it back to a more competitive result.
But they were simply much better - the game was taken out of our hands
It’s okay, we have 4 A graders coming in the mid season draft.![]()
Coming into this game, Merrett, Caldwell and Durham were rated top 50 in AFL player ratings. Thought Durham was ok, but Caldwell and Merrett had a stinker.
Our keeps off slow ball movement game plan is horrible and Bevo planned for it perfectly. Their half forwards pushed back into defence around our 50m line, so all our players were outnumbered behind the ball. A lot of our defenders get a lot of nothing touches.
Our lack of running ability from the half forward line was on display again, like the Adelaide game. Kako and Day-Wicks are too young, and Hobbs isn’t that type of athlete. Langford is slow and teams are putting fast players on him to take advantage of it
Caldwell looks proppy. Like he doesn’t want to stretch that hamstring too much.
