I enjoyed that. Had a dip. If they hadn’t have got a reach around from the umps and kicked everything out of their behinds, it may have been pretty close.
The good:
Nate Caddy. Wow.
Archer May is legit. Competes really hard. Caused the turnover which led to Perkins soiling himself.
Vigo - probably the toughest ruck assignment in the game at the moment and he had a fair old crack. Jackson got him around the ground but that was to be expected.
Lual has a dip! Two snags and some great defensive efforts.
Kako, Clarke and Roberts were all among our better players.
Caldwell shanked some but cracked in all night.
Prior was decent again.
The bad:
Our game plan is an awful creation from a genuinely scared man. Conservative, boring and invites pressure.
Gresham. Don’t really need to say anything.
Perkins. Refer to Gresham.
Merrett’s poor form is pretty embedded now.
Midfield mix is ■■■■■ without Durham. Parish is slow, flat footed and can’t kick.
Setterfield has a crack but he got a footballing lesson from Serong. Never should have played on him.
I can’t think of one good thing Guelfi did.
Blackiston. Appreciate him having a crack but he is not the answer to anything.
I don’t normally blame the umpires but they had massive influence tonight. Two separate rules.
Genuinely we weren’t that far off from them. Umps clearly only wanted to pay freo frees, but really we cost ourselves more than anything. Better skills and better decision makers will make a big difference.
There’s still just no resemblance of any sort of plan to either score or limit scoring, just a whole bunch of dumb footballers, who make poor decisions, with bad skill running around with a bunch of kids, who have no idea how to defend or tackle.
The old saying control the things you can, they can’t even do that.
at this stage you may as well just cop a 50 odd point loss, not worry about turning up to the game, and end the season now, as it’s just rinse and repeat every week.
