Richmond vs Essendon this year could be worse than last year.
I think we could save everyone the effort and just decide the game via coin toss.

Oh I don’t know…that last game against them was probably the worst game of footy I’ve watched in quite a while. It would have to proper stink it up to beat that…on second thoughts you might be right!!
Agree. McAuliffe racks it up in the VFL and is a good tackler..
If I was him, I would look elsewhere
We owe these bastards for taking pick 2 from us last year by falling over the line against them in that dreadful Dreamtime match.
Another classic example of us managing to snare crucial wins to avoid getting top end picks.
this joy ride took a bad turn.
like the ghost train with real ghouls and ghosts and clakkko playing his guitar.
The memorable 3 point wins over North & 2 points over WCE last year were apparently great for implementing a “winning culture” at the club.
If we go 0-23 this year but manage to lose most games by 2-3 goals, yet show some semblance of a game plan, hunger and capacity to improve… then that would appease a majority of people.
Dont remind me, I still dwell on those 2 ‘wins’ as they perfectly epitomise ironically why we have been such failures.
Tigers astutely picking the eyes out of the 2024 superdraft with their haul of picks is everything our club is not.
A 2016 type season showing green shoots like Merrett, Fantasia and Daniher would provide enough sustainance this year. But we’ll get to watch Guelfi, Gresham, Parish.
you can’t lose most of 23 losses by 2-3 goals.
what you are asking for is impossible.
if you get that close most of the time, the many variables in this sport will get you over the line maybe 20% of the time.
if we go 0-23 it’s because we are the worst team and there will always many one-sided thumpings in there.
also, you won’t see a coherent game plan because as the worst team we are not able to impose our gamestyle as the opposition are better at ensuring the game is played their way. what you’ll see is exactly what you’ve seen in 3 rounds so far ie us attacking moving the ball quickly from defence then stuff ups and turnovers and getting killed on the scoreboard. you’ll see rubbish defence and the occasional improvement like last week.
that’s how it always looks for the worst team.
Blitz wants #1 draft pick. we aren’t going to get it unless we play like the 18th best team.
Teams capable of being within 2-3 goals most weeks consistently won’t go 0-23.
Teams that lose to the North Melbourne’s, Richmond’s and West Coasts don’t get to have optimism of looking promising.
@Donslaught9 - do you want to sack Scott so we can complain about falling over the line against West Coast and Richmond again?
Some minor solace.
These are our list of games before we play the Tigers:
Rnd 4 Dogs
Rnd 5 Dees
Rnd 6 Suns (away game)
Rnd 7 Pies
Rnd 8 Lions (home game)
Rnd 9 Giants (away game)
Rnd 10 Freo (home game)
Rnd 11 Tigers
Maybe Dees, maybe Giants if their wheels stay fallen off but it is a home game for them so doubtful.
If he is still there for the Tigers then our board needs to be removed too.
I think Richmond will finish above us. They will get better as the season goes on so unless they get hit by the injury curse I think they will just improve. I see nothing but darkness in our future with Bradley at the helm.
If we get rid of him, it won’t be until the end of the season. The win/loss column won’t matter.
Richmond is the worst team I have seen this year. This is magnified by their horrendous injury list. And I query their 2024 draft selections.
I’m not certain you have understood the essence of this thread?
I’m also becoming jittery that we might need to settle for #2, and that’s the wrong answer.
IF we stay away from key players injured, get ridley Bryza and ROBES in for Anzac Day, I think the pies are very beatable. Especially if we don’t beat Ds. We’ll have our day out once or twice this year.
Ok, well. It’s on again I guess.
We might just be hopeless enough on our own merit to not need to ask too many favours from the Tigers but getting some troops back like Hotton, Lalor, Armstrong, Nank and a couple of others could be important.
With pick 1 - Essendon select
Some cnt who will be as thin as gleeson, and a hybrid of mcgrath & francis
“Yeah nah obviously stoked, huge club, cant wait for anzac day”
