It seems pretty clear now with West Coast and North Melbourne showing that they aren’t horrible anymore, that the thing standing between us and pick 1 is the Richmond Football Club. We desperately need them to get some wins on the board.

This is the thread to barrack for these b@stards each and every week. Like the Demons death ride thread last year but in reverse.

Pick 1 would:

  • Allow us to control the course of the draft - we can make sure Port Adelaide and Carlton pay the highest possible rate for their NGA (Cochrane) /Father Son (Walker) players.

  • Ensure that we get the best rated kid in the draft pool outside of those two i.e. Arki Butler

  • OR - Leverage that position if a club comes really hard for that pick by getting multiple good draft picks.

  • Use the Pre Season Draft as a negotiation threat in any trade dealings

So - GO TIGERS. START WINNING.

Their injury list presents a problem.

LONG TERM - Taj Hotton (3 months), Rhyan Mansell (3 months), Harry Armstrong (2 months), Nank (5-7 weeks), Smillie (5-7 weeks) are certainly not ideal.

Tom Lynch is 3 weeks away but just as likely to tear it on resumption or get suspended.

Be that as it may. There will be 23 blokes in Tigers gurnseys out there each way and I’ll be cheering for them to cause an upset or two.

LET’S GO TIGERS, LET’S GO. CLAP CLAP.

P.S. Yes there’s Fark Carlton but they have basically been in winning positions every week, don’t have a bad injury list and I think they’ll pick up a few wins soon enough. Port Adelaide are a smokey as well of course. But the Tigers are without doubt the main threat. So let’s go Tiges.

They know how to tank properly.

We are such a poorly run club we don’t even know what we are doing week to week.

They will get pick 1 and we will win 2 or 3 meaningless games and end up with ■■■■ picks again.

Personally I’d rather finish 2nd bottom and get pick 2, than the shame and ridicule of a wooden spoon.

Last time we had pick 1, it would have been better off getting 2 anyway.

Or we could just do better with our picks.

I can’t recall there being much serious chatter that the Lions wanted McGrath so he probably would’ve fallen to us at 2 anyway
