It’s the northern base camp, Tibet. No way to ride anywhere near the well-known base camp in Nepal, which is only slightly higher elevation.

Sad and terrible news. I had some good chats over the years, especially during the Olympics as L&P also hung in there for the horse dancing (along with the sadly also departed BigAllen).
Condolences to the family, and that hubby if injured is recovering physically - but emotionally that will take a lot longer.
