I’m very sorry to share that loyalandproud has passed away.
She and her husband were involved in a motorcycle accident in Nepal not far from the Chinese border on their way to Mt Everest Base Camp.
loyalandproud loved the Himalayas, and she’d shared some of her pics with us in the Travel thread from a few days earlier when they flew over/alongside Mt Everest - her husband says she was bubbling with awe and excitement!
He says she had the gift to see good in all and was always striving to make life situations better. I think we all had a sense of the type of person she was from her quality posting in so many varied topics on Blitz.
Her husband also shared that she loved the camaraderie, advice and sense of belonging she found on Blitz for over 10 years. In his words: “I don’t think it would be possible to over emphasise how much joy L&P took onboard being a part of Blitz - a shining example of how great social media can be - perhaps not the Game Day thread”
I had some lovely chats with her over the years, and I’m really going to miss her. While it’s never easy to lose someone, I’m glad she left doing something she loved - being off on yet another adventure with her husband by her side.
Never met @loyalandproud, but always enjoyed her posts in the threads. Particularly the motorcycle connections - she was an avid motorcyclist and Ducatisti - , and of course travel .
Commiserations to her family and friends. Didn’t have the pleasure of much interaction but she seemed a genuinely nice person and a great loss to the blitz community.
Her avatar fits her username and her attitude. Thanks Koala and condolences to Mr L&P and loved ones. Looking through her posts such a positive person.
Terrible news. Condolences to Mr L&P, family and friends. In departing in that way, doing and experiencing things she loved dearly, I hope she didn’t suffer too much. I’d hoped that we’d meet on a Qld Ducati ride one day, but alas it wasn’t to be.
Oh man. Sometimes it’s horrible news like this that jolt you out of whatever trivial thing you are worried about and back to reality and the preciousness of life.
