Rohan Connolly thoughts on Essendon

I doubt he does.

But if he did, what does he bring to the table apart from being a fan and being able to deliver a good rant.

I prefer he didn’t run for the Board. One sole dissenting voice inside will only get captured and silenced. I’d actually prefer him outside the tent pi$$ing in.

Woosha says hold my premiership cup.

<best midfield ever, yada, yada…>

Anyone suggested Rohan runs for a board seat, please stop.

When it comes to running any kind of organisation, chucking up Steph Curry specials from eight rows back is one hundred billion times easier (I’ve run the numbers twice and am happy with that figure) than actually being in the action.

And even though I don’t know him, I have all the confidence in the universe that he would agree with me.

A premiership won due to Wooshas tactical innovation (for real).

Adelaide were the best H&A team across 2005/2006 using an early version of the modern press (predating Clarkson/Lyon et al.). They lost to West Coast in back to back prelims on the back of a modified, handball heavy, game plan that brought the Crows zone unstuck.

Gold Coast - Lynch? Saad?

Eddie Betts would be in there.

Nah. In fact none of those guys would qualify for mine. Good players all, and some are stars. But superstar is an overly used term these days. Wayne Carey was a superstar, James Hird was a superstar, Buddy Franklin is a superstar. These guys are on a whole different level.

Sheedy was the one who instigated his moved from Essendon to the Richmond .like Ted Richards they play one game .we get badly beaten .both of them would be dropped the next week

To be fair to Rohan, they do leave themselves open to this.

Lol. Sheedy finished in 2007. Houli moved to Richmond after the 2010 season. Hird was appointed coach and tried to change his mind however he said he had already committed to Hardwick and wouldn’t go back on his word.

Seriously how the hell does that happen? So so unbelievably frustrating to read that. Not listening to the new coach is not setting the coach up for success.

I was very impressed with way Paul Cousins represented himself and would vote his way again in a heartbeat. I had the feeling that he was a very footy club type.

Basing it on the original suggestion that every other team has had superstars in the last 20 years

I agree its over used, to me a superstar would be a once in a generation player
Carey
Hird
McLeod
Lloyd
Brown
Abletts
Etc

But the example given was J. Watson

Each of the players I mentioned is as much a superstar as him, arguable on a couple

J Watson is a superstar human, probably not a superstar player though.

Whether Jobe was a bonafide “Superstar” is debateable.

Whether Marc Murphy is… Has never even been considered for debate.

Marc farkin Murphy… Crikey

It’s awesome that Rohan would send us that, he is spot on, couldn’t agree more. I’m sure he knows a lot more in the background too.

Funny no media has picked it up and run with it as a story.

Out of that I’d further segregate three galacticos.

Journalist gives message for fan to post on discussion forum!

Experienced journalist passionately explains the root cause of the bombers crisis. They run stories on Kane Cornes off the cuff dig at us. Why wouldn’t they publish Rohan’s story.
