Seems the great man is auctioning off some of his vast collection at an auction in early September.

How would either the club or any of us on here want the point post Leigh Matthews broke at Windy Hill in 1982?

How did he get it?

is he selling north melbourne

How did he get it?

Must have purchased it somehow. Smart man!

Sorry but I think Barassi is a self-serving wanker. Never liked him.

L Mathews broke the boundary umpire’s foot that day as well.

Maybe the ump should buy it then stick it up Mathews’ backside.

Maybe it might make him shut up for once?

And can anyone remember who Stan Cash was?

The cowboy.

Stan Cash was a cowboy?

Ice Temple everyone is entitled to thier opinion about a person.

My opinion, having met Ron Barassi when I lived in Mildura, his public persona may come across as a bit self serving, the man himself is a charming, well spoken, old school manners and a gentleman. Enjoyed his company very much.

Agree with miss ellie.

I was there the day the point post broke. It was lucky for the Matthews legend that he was knocked back into it, with the extra force and timing giving it some sort of stress fracture, otherwise it would have been fine.

Of course if Dustin had broke a point post, he would have been rubbed out for the season.

If he’s selling whatever he uses to keep his mo looking youthful, grab us some would you?

He’d be the same bloke who, though aged in his 70’s, jumped up from his table to help out someone being assaulted in Fitzroy Street a couple of years back. Tsk.

He was indeed that bloke. And got bashed up for his troubles.

Met him many years ago at the channel 10 studios. Really nice guy.
