I’m not particularly enthused by Cutler, but at 192cm could he be handy in the forward line rather than the wing while we’re waiting for Joe and Jimmy?

Pre-season will be revealing. I realise we probably get smashed… and have to listen to the tried and tested… it is just preseason yada yada… but I’m hoping we start how we intended to finish… hard and tough from the first whistle.
I don’t even mind if we play full intensity for a half and then shut it down… although I would prefer them to just play start to finish. Actually hit the season running and get some momentum.
Very worried about our bookends… The spine spent so long in the making left in tatters from saga and age… just hoping it can hold together enough to let the younger brigade come through. Very hopeful that Parish and McGrath are going to take another step this year. I remain hopeful that by the end of the season our midfield will be seen as top shelf… with Parish, McGrath, Heppell, Smith, Shiel, Merrett doing the bulk of the damage. Stringer for impact but mainly up forward. Zaharakis to float on the edges and wings… Tippa and Fanta to provide spark if needed. If we can get something out of Phillips to give us a shot… then our midfield should be able to get on equal terms.

Snelling is already in the side on the bench.
I think they’ve cheated by naming 6 defenders plus Gleeson and Francis on the bench. It’s unbalanced.
I think he’s overrated to be honest. I’d be happy if he isn’t a walk-up starter in the best 22. He’s never been challenged for a spot in the team. Never been dropped, and there’s been countless times where he should’ve been to end a message to him and by extension the rest of the group to show that not even a senior player who has been at the club a decade isn’t immune to being omitted.

One ruck. So what the fark happens if Smack relieves the ruckman- Stringer as the only forward over 6 feet tall?
