Commentators kept saying the loser of this game cannot make finals. I thought Richmond were 3-10 in 2014 and still made the finals. Shows it can be done, those morons have such short memories.

The free against Towers changed the game. Hawks just gained the ascendancy till the end.
Sydney still shouldâve won. They had had so many chances to ice the game. Donât have anyone capable of taking a contested mark. Tippett is finished and Sinclairâs just an average footballer.

Yep, very weird, he bounced vertically to mark it and was clearly just outside 50. He kicked it from exactly that same point, with the man on the mark dragged back 3-4 metres. Dead set ump cheating.
Dunno how the Hawk was allowed to put an elbow through the face of his tackler, and then drop the ball, at that last centre bounce too.

Afl website putting it on Sydney for not standing mark correctly, seems odd. Roughy took a big risk in assuming that the swans player wouldnât run up to the mark if that is the case. You donât see the ump set the mark in the coverage so who knows.

Tippett spilled 2x markable opportunities in a minute late in the game that should have been taken. His ruck work is pretty good but he just doesnât get involved enough around the ground. He needs to send his manager a Xmas card for the rest of his life for doing this deal with Sydney on the back of 1x ripping performance in a PF for Adelaide against Hawthorn. Very lucky bloke. And Sinclair is a tryer but thatâs about it. In hindsight they should have kept Nankervis.
