Winderlich needs game time before he gets a start. What would be the point of playing him cold?

I don't want to play them missing their key players. I want to beat them with their best 22...
Why? I'm pretty sure we're going to be tested at some stage without some key players...that's football, I just want finals footy, I don't care how we get there.
I think winders might need to come back via Vfl like Dempsey. I’d consider one of them as the sub. But will be hard to drop one of the new kids.

So, I posted before Norf that we needed to niggle Harvey (check) and dump Wells every time he got the ball (check). This was basically because for Norf to win, they need the run those two provide. Hawthorn are a different predicament - they can win without the outside run.

But, interestingly, the last 5 times the Dawks have played the Cats, they have lost - and Mitchell has been their best player. J Pod and Hawkins have got a hold of the Dawks at times too, lots of goals. Mind you, since Lake went there, not so much.

Hardingham should stay. If not for his 2 goals then for the job he did on Lindsay Thomas in the 2nd half.

No Franklin this time, so that removes the 36 to 60 or so points he usually scores himself against Essendon.
2 of the last 3 games franklin hasn't played, so it's more the hawks well drilled hard working nature that troubles us.
I don't see the point of rushing back winda, not much can be gained from it. If he breaks down again i'd rather it be in the vfl, and not the seniors.

That wouldn't surprise me either. It is going to be hard for us or anyone to bet Hawks this year. Even if we lose, playing the same team, with the young boys will give us a great advantage during the season
Dempsey played his second game back in the VFL today and is coming from a long way back. At least one more game for Dempsey in the VFL, and I want Winderlich to play 2 games in the VFL. We can't afford Winderlich to break down in the AFL team.
If winders does a hammy it will be regardless of where he plays, just saying.
I'll tell you what, we better tag the living daylights out of Sam Mitchell this time. For some reason that defies logical thinking, we had Hocking him on Isaac Smith last year and we got torn a new one by Mitchell.
I like our chances up forward considering the lack of key defenders they have. Gibson is undersized but more than holds his own so we should look to target the likes of Cheney and Birchall who are horrifically undersized.
Brisbane had Brown matched up on Cheney today and he kicked 4 so we should be looking to direct more of the ball to whoever isn't matched up on Gibson. Mind you, we still have to keep Gibson honest as he likes to come in 3rd man and kill the contest. JD should be given the task to keep him accountable and draw him outside defensive 50 through repeated leads around CHF.
Defensively, I am slightly worried in regards to our matchups with Roughead and Gunston. Hooker should take the resting ruck in Hale or McEvoy but I'm not sure where that leaves Hurley and Fletcher. Bags should take Breust if Cyril plays down back.
