Round 3 2019 non Essendon Games

We have to acknowledge that our recruiting is simply woeful!

Ahem

It’s actually depressing to watch a bunch of first or second year system kids play well for other teams whilst we “back in” guys like baguley and Myers

You watch these teams and in congestion they are capable of handballing inside a phone box, collecting the ball, absorbing tackles from 1 or 2 players and dishing it off quickly to a free man who moves their team forward.

Our boys either can’t pick up the ball, get caught holding it because they are incapable of absorbing anything more than a slight change of breeze, handball a rudimentary pass at the feet of their teammate or just go backwards and turn it over long down the line and not work to apply pressure.

It is a STARK contrast watching how football should be played at the elite level tonight compared to how we play.

We train on the windiest ground in the Southern Hemisphere then play our home games inside.

Gee players from both these teams work hard into space to give players with the ball an easy pass.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed is how poor we are on congestion. Either turn it over or bang it long to no one. We have no ability to handball in close multiple times and clear the congestion

Geelong get a fair run from the umps eh…

Come to think have there been many teams who’ve snagged a gf in the last 15 years that don’t train at a decent sized, grand stand sheltered ground that resembles, oh I don’t know, the ground they play the games at?

Paranoia maybe but Geelong and Hawks both big stadiums. Punt Road less so but still a cut above your WHill and Victoria Park. Pies at Olympic Park. WC etc. Even the Dogs got their govt handout and built a decent colosseum. Meantime we’re waiting for the trees to grow. Yep, I’ve figured it out. It’s just poor governance again.

…play their home games on concrete?

You can take Jenkins out of essington, but you cant take the essington out of Jenkins

Panic and doubt.

could do with an Adelaide goal here to keep it interesting

What the actual ■■■■ is a Gryan?

Looks like Geelong will go 3-0

Where Essendon should be why are we so ■■■■?

Because they are Geelong, the greatest team of all, silly.

Jenkins is close to the Brownlow for being soft.
God he is just pathetic for his size.
Love Dangerfield’s attack and intent but geez he shanks plenty of kicks

drafting and development of players is crap compared to other clubs

Our drafting, development and fitness departments need a complete over haul.
